After about 3 months Lucy's (again) cleared to go back to work, hopefully this time she stays. Tim and Lucy are on their way to the station.
T: How are you feeling?
L: Fat. Apart from that alright. Keep stumbling on this leg.
T: You look amazing Luce. Try not to get hurt today though.
L: Yeah I'll try. So glad you can stop calling me boot now.
T: Unfortunately true.
L: It's been so boring at home all day.
T: Oh I forgot to mention, about a month ago there was a new rookie... her name's Ellie Meyers.
L: She good?
T: Well she hasn't caused any problems.
L: Alright.
T: You look tired.
L: No matter how much I sleep it's never enough. I'll be fine though.
T: Yeah I know. Just be careful.
L: I still know how to be a cop.
They pull up to the station and after a while everyone's sat down in roll call. Grey starts speaking.
G: Alright first of all let's welcome back Officer Lucy Chen. Now, Officer Nolan has taken a person today so Meyers you can ride with... Chen, you up for it?
L: Yeah sure.
G: Alright. Well night shift unsurprisingly left loose ends. Juarez, Thorsen follow up on the call in from last night...
After a few minutes everyone is free to go. Ellie goes over to Lucy.
E: So you're your Officer Chen?
L: Yeah. Meyers right?
E: Yeah I've heard a lot about you.
L: Don't be too expectant I'm tired as hell today and I'm not even a TO.
E: Yeah you went to UC school right?
L: Yep.
E: Cool. Sergeant Bradford is giving me a death stare I'm going to go get the war bags.
L: Alright I'll see you at the shop.
After a few minutes Ellie comes back with the bags and loads them into the back then gets into the car with Lucy. They start driving out on patrol.
E: I don't know how everyone isn't scared of Bradford.
L: Well trust me when I say you don't want to see Detective Lopez's angry side. Or Detective Harper's. And under everything Tim's just a big softie.
E: You're his girlfriend aren't you.
L: Yep.
E: Dang ok.
L: Oh that car just ran a light.
E: We pull them over?
L: Yep.
Lucy flashes the sirens and the car pulls over. She goes over to the window, Ellie on the other side.
L: Do you know why we pulled you over sir?
Driver: No but I certainly don't mind whatever the reason might be.
He says looking her up and down.
L: Well you ran a stop sign.
D: Didn't stop me from seeing two cute cops though.
L: License and registration please.
D: Aw come on princess, I promise I won't do it again I'm sure you can just let me off with a warning.
L: Don't- call me that. License and registration.
D: Please princess? For me?
L: You call me that again and I'll shove you in a holding cell full of murders.
He hands over his license and registration.
D: I'm really sorry officer. I promise it won't happen again.
L: Just shut up.
They run his license.
E: A car matching his description was seen speeding off from a murder scene.
L: Alright what do we do now?
E: Search the car?
L: Alright. I'll get the guy out and you search.
E: Ok.
Lucy goes over to the driver. Alan Shaw.
L: Sir could you step out the vehicle for me please.
A: Why?
L: Your license was flagged in our system. Just a protocol while we search the car.
A: And what if I don't?
L: You get arrested.
A: Oh alright. Yeah I'm getting out.
L: Sit over there on the sidewalk please.
He sits against a tree while Ellie and Lucy start searching the car.
L: Front seats clear.
E: Back seats clear.
As they open the trunk they see blood stains and guns everywhere.
L: Call it in and bag the evidence.
As she turns back to Alan she stumbles slightly but catches herself on the car.
E: You alright Officer Chen?
L: Yep just my leg acting up again. Don't forget your gloves.
E: Right sorry.
Ellie puts on gloves and starts collecting the evidence while Lucy goes to arrest the guy.
