Radio: 7-Adam-19 there's been a call for back up at <address>

Lucy: Isn't that a school?

Tim: Show us responding. What's the situation.

Radio: We've got a 14 year old kid on the roof refusing to come down.

Tim: Copy.

Alyssa: Thought you said no more rooftops.

Lucy: Well I make exceptions. Let's go.

When they get to the school they see most of the students and staff gathered outside. One of the teachers comes up to them.

Teacher: The student up there, her names Kelly. She's not talking to anyone please just get her down.

Lucy: Alright. I'll go up. Tim can you watch us from the rooftop entrance.

Tim: Sure.

Lucy: Alyssa stay here be careful don't be dumb.

Alyssa: Ok.

As Tim and Lucy make their way past the crowd and into the build he starts talking.

Tim: You sure you're ok to go up there?

Lucy: It's only the very tall heights I'm now scared of. I'll be ok it's only about 2 stories high.

Tim: Alright.

They get to the entrance and Lucy steps out.

Lucy: Hello? You're Kelly right?

Kelly: Go away I want to be alone.

Lucy: Usually I would but right now I can't.

Kelly: What do you want.

Lucy: To talk. Can I come closer?

Kelly's sitting in the edge. Her feet dangling off.

Kelly: Yeah.

Lucy goes closer slightly. She sits down facing inwards, still fearful to look at the edge of the building.

Lucy: So what's up?

Kelly: You mean why am I up here? My parents are just... they don't support me in anything. They always want me to get good grades in school. Well any parents would but mine. If I get anything under 100 it's "do better, next time get 100" yeah I get it but I just want some praise once it a while. To know I'm doing good.

Lucy: I can relate. I mean my parents just don't at all support my decision to be a cop. Not because of the danger but they just don't like cops.

Kelly: How'd you put up with it?

Lucy: My friends mostly. They are always there for me.

Kelly: All my friends ghosted me.

Lucy: I want you to look down. At the cop car. There should be a girl there. She doesn't go here you should be able to see her.

Kelly: Yeah.

Lucy: She's my niece. I've only known she exists for a few days but she's really nice. I'm sure she'd love to be friends with you. And like I said, only known her for a few days and I love her. People can come out of nowhere sometimes.

Kelly: She looks cool.

Lucy: And did you see the officer who was with me?

Kelly; Mhm.

Lucy: That's my boyfriend. He's saved my life loads of times.

Kelly glances at Lucy then back to the ground.

Kelly: You're the officer from the news today aren't you. The one who fell.

Lucy: Mhm.

Kelly: Explains why you're not facing the edge.

Lucy: Yeah. You wanna come down with me?

Kelly: Everyone is watching me. No matter what I do now people will be horrified. It's either "the girl who jumped" or "suicidal bitch".

Lucy: You know with my job I see horrible things. Taking off the uniform means taking off whatever happened that day. Sure there are some things that stain you for a while. A long time. For you taking off your school bag is leaving the words of these idiots at school.

Kelly: You've been in the news a lot.

Lucy: Yep. Perks of the job.

Kelly: I'd like to stay up here for a bit.

Lucy: Ok. I'll stay here with you.

There's a moment of silence.

Lucy: Do you want me to get everyone to leave? Go back inside. I would hate seeing so many eyes on me...

Kelly: No.

Lucy: You sure?

Kelly: Yes. Is that ok?

Lucy: Yeah.
