The king of the Hittite empire and his children have arrived in Egypt to strengthen diplomatic relations with Egypt.
And Tutankhamun wishes for you to attend as his betrothed and future queen of Egypt.
Heqet swore to make you the most desirable woman at the feast that is being held tonight.
Despite not wanting to be 'desirable' but you let Heqet do as she wished to you.
Which was a mistake, as she waxed your body hair, leaving only soft yet burning hot skin.
She placed you in the finest dress, and decorated you with jewellery.
What bothered you the most was the wig, but you decided to wear it as it held a significant tradition for royal feasts.
Tetisheri was of course left in the care of your handmaidens.
"Maybe I should have worn something more modest, this is showing too much skin."
You complain in discomfort.
"Nonsense, remember you are dressed to please the Pharaoh, no one will dare stare at you in the wrong manner."
𓋹𓆣𓋹𓆣𓋹𓆣
Many are staring at you in the wrong manner.
Meanwhile, Tutankhamun is in a deep conversation with king Šuppiluliuma.
The man looks like he is a walking corpse.
Arnuwanda, his eldest son and heir, stands beside you near the feast table with a cup of wine in his hand.
"You look prettier than his first wife, did you know that she ran away?"
This is surely the worst way to start a conversation with someone you barely know.
But the prince doesn't care.
"Yes, I know, he told me everything about himself."
"And you decided to still become his queen?"
You look at the dark haired prince with evident annoyance.
"I believe this is something that concerns me only, my prince."
Arnuwanda chuckled, taking a sip from his wine cup.
"Forgive me, I meant no offense. It's just... surprising, is all. Tutankhamun is not known for his charm or charisma."
He stepped closer, his eyes roaming over your form-fitting dress and exposed skin.
You felt a shiver run down your spine, though whether from revulsion or something else, you couldn't say.
But that prince is creepy.
"Yet here you are, the most radiant woman in the room, betrothed to him."
"Mind yourself and speak with respect, you are nothing but a guest here." you assert.
For some reason, you feel a bit overprotective of Tutankhamun.
"Of course, my apologies, it was not my intent to offend the future queen of Egypt," he said smoothly, though the sardonic edge remained in his voice.
With that he walks to the feast table with a smile on his face.
A smile which is directed towards a now looking angry Tutankhamun.
When you look at the Pharaoh, he narrows his eyes, giving you a harsh look as if you committed a disgusting sin, before looking away, and continue speaking with his guests.
The way he stared at you made you feel so small and pathetic.
𓋹𓆣𓋹𓆣𓋹𓆣
Through the whole feast, Tutankhamun ignored your existence as if you mean nothing to him.
Which forced you to retire early and go to the garden to get some fresh air.
'Who the fuck does he think he is? Inviting me then treating me like that!'
The thoughts eat at you, feeling like you want to get revenge for the mistreatment you received.
Is that how he is going to treat you through marriage? Giving you the silent treatment after making you feel loved.
Maybe, you should take Tetisheri and leave with Matvei.
"What upsets you?"
Hearing the unfamiliar voice, you quickly turn around to see a man with red hair and mischievous green eyes, standing there, dressed in weird clothes.
"Who are you?" you ask, warily.
"Tetisheri's father."
Staying silent in such situation would have been awkward.
But that's what you did.
Honestly, you don't even know how to react in such a situation.
For a day, you forgot that Tetisheri is not yours and Tutankhamun's daughter.
"If you are worried that I have came to take her away, don't worry, I won't."
"As if I would have allowed you to do so." you sneer at the man.
"I understand that you are confused about the situation, but trust me it's important."
"So, I'm in this timeline because of you!"
