"She has cute chubby hands."
"Indeed, I could just put them in a sandwich and eat them."
"What?"
You sigh with a smile at how Tutankhamun didn't understand your playful sentence.
"Forget it, it's nothing."
The young Pharaoh stares at you while Tetisheri is grabbing tightly into his index finger.
"Tell me about your husband."
You knew this was coming, and you are prepared to answer.
"I don't have a husband and Tetisheri is not my biological daughter."
The best solution is telling him some of the truth.
Imagine if he discovered that you are a virgin on the wedding night.
Not like you are going to allow him to sleep with you.
Tutankhamun's smile widened, his eyes sparkling with mischief as he leaned in closer to you.
"Pure and untouched a rare treasure indeed. I am most fortunate to have found such a gem." His voice was low.
You shifted uncomfortably on the cushions, suddenly very aware of the closeness of your bodies.
"Your Majesty, please..." you began, but he cut you off with a gentle gesture.
"No, no, my dear. There is no need for such formality between us. We are to be wed, after all. I insist that you call me Tut."
He reached out to caress your cheek, his touch feather-light and yet searing.
"As you wish... Tut," you managed to say, your voice barely above a whisper.
Suddenly a small hand slams itself on the Pharaoh's face, preventing him from leaning his face towards yours.
You laugh, as Tutankhamun holds Tetisheri up to face him.
"Now, this is not a nice thing to do to your father, you are lucky you are a baby."
Tetisheri giggles at his playful scolding.
Before she spits at him.
Tutankhamun's eyes widened in surprise as Tetisheri's spit landed on his cheek.
For a moment, he looked utterly shocked.
Then, to your astonishment, he threw back his head and laughed.
"Well now, it seems I have been thoroughly scolded by my own daughter!"
He grinned at Tetisheri, who giggled and clapped her little hands in delight.
You couldn't help but join in their laughter, relieved that the tension had been broken.
Tutankhamun turned his gaze back to you, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
"I suppose I should consider myself lucky to have such a spirited child," he said, still chuckling.
"And to think, she has only known me for a few days."
You nod at him in agreement, finding the girl's behaviour funny.
She is your little saviour from awkward situations.
"Today, I will take with us to the temple."
"What temple?" You ask.
"Amun's temple to pray and give offerings."
"Oh..."
You almost forgot that Tutankhamun is an polytheistic cult lover.
He destroyed the Atenism religion which his father established.
𓋹𓆣𓋹𓆣𓋹𓆣
You hold Tetisheri walking into the temple along with Tutankhamun.
Everyone is given an incense for prayer.
You notice Matvei who is standing with the fellow healers, also praying.
Or pretending to be praying.
"My queen, you should give the incense for the baby to hold."
The head priest instructs you with a fake smile.
"She would poke her eyes with it." You point out.
"Just give it to her." Tutankhamun orders.
"No, she is a baby for God's sake, I'm not giving her that" you exclaim.
Tutankhamun rolls his eyes before giving an incense to Tetisheri who takes it happily.
"See, my queen, she is holding it carefully" the priest stated in victory, leaning down to look at the baby.
"I'm assured she will become the most devoted follower of Amun like his majesty."
"Of course, she is pure and honest." Tutankhamun adds pridefully.
However, Tetisheri decided to poke the priest's left eye with the incense.
The older man scream loudly in pain holding his injured eye.
Everyone is in shock including the Pharaoh, while you smile in mockery.
"Indeed, my Pharaoh, she is pure and honest like you."
