You avoid speaking to Tutankhamun as you have a private dinner with him.

Tetisheri is sitting on your lap as you eat your food.

The food tastes good even though it lacks some spices.

However, you realize that the food in Ancient times tastes way better than modern whether it's imported or not.

Guess your parents and grandparents were right about food tasting better in their time.

While feeding Tetisheri small bits of chicken, as she is already teething and you believe it's a good idea to get her used to solid food.

Tutankhamun takes half of the chicken along with two large fish and places them on your plate.

"Eat this, your appetite is weak."

"Oh, so now you care about me?"

"Excuse me?"

The young Pharaoh is baffled by your sudden rude attitude towards him.

"You ignored me during the feast, remember? You even gave me a dirty look."

Tutankhamun stares at you for a moment before bursting out into laughter.

"This is the first time I've seen you react like that. I must admit it is refreshing, and it will also be amusing when I execute your brother."

This is a hidden threat underneath.

"I believe Matvei is going to win in the Senet match tomorrow, and then I will leave with Tetisheri."

"I doubt that very much," Tutankhamun scoffed, his eyes narrowing as he took a bite of his fish.

"Matvei is skilled, yes, but I am the undefeated champion of Senet, he stands no chance against me."

"We will have to wait and see," you state.

When you return your gaze to your plate, you find the chicken torn and your daughter has most of it in her mouth.

"No!" You exclaim in fear of her choking but the baby swallows the pieces before you can stop her.

No choking happens, Tetisheri only giggles and goes to eat more which makes you thank God.

Meanwhile, Tutankhamun smirks.

"Look who has a great appetite, I'm envious."

"I feel like she will grow up and conquer the world." You say in disbelief.

"A great treat in a future ruler of Egypt, don't you agree?"

You stare at Tutankhamun in shock.

"You are going to have her inherit the throne?"

"Hatshepsut was a great Pharaoh, her era was filled with peace, I believe Tetisheri will be the same."

All the anger you felt towards Tutankhamun vanishes when you see how accepting he is of a woman ruling.

Though this is the bare minimum.

"I just hope I will be there when she grows up into a young woman'' you mutter, concluding that you might return to your timeline and leave her behind.

''Do you want to go on a Nile trip with me tonight?''

Hearing this made you snap out of your thoughts.

You feel like this is a chance to get to know Tutankhamun more.

And to also convince him to change his attitude.

Yes, you don't believe in 'I can fix him' fantasy, but doesn't mean you can't try.

Coming to that, Tutankhamun isn't a bad boy nor a villain.

He is just a tyrant.

"Yes, I would like to."

As the royal barge glided through the night, you sat beside Tutankhamun, Tetisheri sleeping soundly in your arms. The air was cool and fragrant with the scent of lotus flowers.

As the servant cruised along the nile, Tutankhamun turned to you.

"You know my father, Pharaoh Amenhotep, used to take my mother on such trips."

"I'm sure queen Nefertiti loved such trips."

Tutankhamun narrows his eyes in confusion at your sentence, before chuckling.

"Queen Nefertiti is not my mother, my mother was the second wife."

"Oh, I'm sorry, I know that, I just mixed the names up, I apologise." you lie.

"What is my mother's name then?"

You know that feeling when a teacher corrects you and you say 'that you were nervous so you weren't able to answer correctly'

So the teacher goes on to ask you another question?

Yes, this is what you are feeling right now, an embarrassed little girl who doesn't know how to answer.

Tutankhamun only smiles at your silence.

"It doesn't matter if you remember her name or not...my father didn't really think of her anything important then a birthing tool."

Seeing his sad broken eyes made you feel sympathetic towards him.

"He almost destroyed Egypt for a belief system, he only wanted us to worship Aten."

Suddenly the pharaoh stares directly at you with a gaze filled of hatred.

"Aten this, Aten that, he is only obsessed with worshipping a sun god."

You sigh softy, gently taking hold of his hand.

"He also protected the rights of the farmers, and he balanced between social classes, he wasn't that awful."

Tutankhamun stares down at your hand before intertwining his fingers with yours.

He leans towards your ear with a smile, his voice lowering.

"Let me tell you something, I don't believe in those gods, it's all for the sake of Egypt's religion image."

Your eyes widens at his confession.

"So, you don't believe in a creator?"

Tutankhamun shook his head.

"I do believe in a creator but not in a man-made gods with animal heads created by drunken priests to rule over Egypt."

It seems like your betrothed has many secrets.

Let's hope that his bitter childhood doesn't ruin your future with him.
