You and Tutankhamun are getting married today.

But the first step in verifying the marriage is giving gifts to the ancient deities at Amun temple

Then the couple who happens to be you and Tutankhamun will have to give each other gifts.

There is no such thing as a marriage ceremony in Egypt, but why is there a ceremony?

Well, of course to announce you as the queen.

You two are being carried on palanquin by servants to the temple.

"I wish to speak to you about something before we reach the temple."

"What is it?" you ask, turning your head towards him.

"In this marriage we can't have any children."

You wanted to let out a sigh of relief but hold it in and decide to pretend to be hurt by his words.

"If I can ask, why?"

Tutankhamun crosses his arms over his chest, looking away from you.

"Because, the children we will have together might end up dead."

You furrow your brow, feigning a mix of confusion and hurt.

"That’s a terrible thing to say, my Pharaoh. How can you be so certain of such a fate?"

Honestly, you would be lying if you didn't know what he is speaking about.

But how are you supposed to explain to Tutankhamun the incest problem without sound suspicious.

"It is not certainty," he says after a moment, his voice is softer now.

"It is fear, you know the curse that runs through my bloodline, our children might be born dead or even worse born with deformities."

"You are not deformed, don't overthink things, but if it makes you comfortable, then we won't have any children."

Tutankhamun’s eyes dart to yours, surprise flickering in them at your swift agreement.

He straightens up, his expression softening, though there’s still tension in his jaw.

"You... would truly be fine with that?" he asks, his voice hesitant.

"It is a heavy burden for any woman, especially for a queen. Our people will expect heirs."

"I care more about our happiness and well-being than what others expect," you reply, your voice is steady but warm.

"You are my Pharaoh, but also my husband. If this is what you wish, I will honor it, we also have Tetisheri."

Tutankhamun turns his head towards you after you lock your arms together and lay your head on his shoulder.

You tried your hardest to not think about Matvei's words and enjoy your time with Tut.

Even if you do leave, at least you managed to make Tutankhamun happy.

But you know it's cruel to give him hope then leave him.

Maybe next time you meet Horace, you could convince him to let you stay.

You smile as the heavy crown sits upon your head while you sit beside Tutankhamun on the throne he had made specifically for you two.

Tetisheri also took it open herself to open the gifts you and Tutankhamun handed to each other, and also she took the gifts from the temple.
