You recounted everything about your story, from beginning to end, without leaving out any details.

"I believe you because what you've told me makes sense. However, I want to understand why you chose to save Matvei."

"I don't want to see you kill another person; it's frightening."

Tutankhamun processes your words as he sits on the throne, while you sit in front of him on the ground. The throne room is empty, just the two of you.

"Is it not because you have feelings for him?" he presses.

You sigh and roll your eyes slightly. "Matvei would be the same age as my grandfather in my timeline."

The pharaoh raises an eyebrow at your boldness.

"If he is as old as your grandfather, then I must be as old as your ancestor."

"Don't make it sound any weirder than it already is. I've already told you there’s nothing likable about him, except his looks."

You tease him, which works as Tutankhamun gets jealous.

"So, you admit that you like him for his looks."

Smiling slightly, you tilt your head, continuing to taunt him.

"You told me to be honest, and I'm being honest to the very end."

Tutankhamun leans forward slightly, his dark eyes narrowing as they lock with yours.

"You enjoy testing my patience, don't you?" he says, his tone holding a hint of playfulness.

"You told me to be honest. If anything, you should appreciate my courage to speak my mind in front of you."

He leans back on his throne, his lips curving into a faint smirk.

"Where was that courage when you decided to keep the truth from me?"

"Are you going to hold it against me forever?" you ask, pouting slightly.

"Yes, even in the afterlife, dear wife...are you not going to plead for Matvei's life."

You shrug, shaking your head 'no'

"I saved him many times, but this time he deserves it."

Silence follows after your sentence, however it only stays for two minutes before your husband speaks up.

"I'm not mad at you."

You look up at him in surprise, after he stands up from his thronewalking towards you until he kneels.

"I feel like I'm committing a sin if I get mad at you."

He pulls a dagger out of his sheath, it's very similar to his dagger.

"When I'm not around and someone tries to seduce you, take out their guts with this dagger."

You take the weapon from him before returning your gaze to his eyes with a gentle smile.

"Thank you, this is a nice gift."

"You have failed your mission to protect her."

"How did I fail my mission when she is fine and well, while I'm the one in prison waiting my execution."

Matvei says, looking at Horace coldly, as the time traveler employee glares at him.

"We shall discuss this later, but you shall come with me now."

Horace forces the young man back on his feet, before grabbing his arm.

"Why?" Matvei inquires.

"Because you are going to meet my boss and he will decide what to do with you."

With that, the two disappear and leave the prison cell empty.
