AN: I just want to say that if George was actually testifying, he would probably be more nervous or overall more emotional than i portrayed him. The reason I didn't portray him that way is simply because I really don't like him enough to give him depth as a character. The reason his testimony is included is because due to him being the last person to see Izzie alive, the one to report her missing, one of two people to tell police about Izzie's issues with shadow shepherd, and the only witness to when Cristina punched Izzie he had a lot of relevant information that would be useful in a trial and will affect the direction of the trial. So while I personally dislike George, he is important to this arc of the story.

The trial is going to take up several chapters because while I'm not writing all the testimony, there will be a lot of it included. Meredith's is probably going to be one of the last because she's more relevant to Rose's murder and his smuggling the phone in the jail than she is with Izzie's murder.

After this chapter there will probably be three more chapters of testimony and then the following chapter will wrap up the trial. If you're not interested in this kind of stuff I apologize, but it is important to the story and I enjoy writing it as I love true crime and spend a lot of time watching this kind of stuff so it's rather easy for me to write lol.

Thank you for reading and I really hope you enjoy it!

Ps: if Burke's lawyer gives you a headache, you are not alone. Her strategy is just to throw red herring after red herring out in order to confuse the jury and it is a strategy that she is extremely talented at lol.

"Please state your name for the record." The bailiff directed once Alex was sat at the witness stand.

"Alexander Michael Karev." Alex responded.

"Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?"

"Yes." Alex nodded.

"Dr. Karev, you were the one to find the body of Isobel Stevens, correct?" Isabella asked as she rose from her seat and approached the witness stand.

"Yes." Alex almost whispered, his voice shaking.

"Can you please describe to us how you found her?"

"Izzie didn't show up for work and her phone was off. I had finished with a patient and tried to call her again, but when it went straight to voicemail I was frustrated and decided to go up to the roof to calm down. I went to sit down near the edge of the roof when I saw what looked like blood out of the corner of my eye." Alex harshly wiped the tears that were building in his eyes and covered his mouth to choke back a sob. "I... I followed the blood and Izzie was just laying there about twenty steps past the helicopter pad, her throat slit in a pool of her own blood."

"I am so sorry that you had to find her like that, Dr. Karev, do you need a moment?" Isabella's eyes shone with sympathy as Alex took a deep breath and tried to gather himself.

"No, I'm okay."

"Now, you said that her throat was slit. Did you notice any other injuries on Izzie? Or anything that stood out to you?"

"I didn't look for very long, I felt like I was going to be sick." Alex gulped. "But it did look like her hands and arms were pretty scratched up."

"State's Exhibit E: Crime scene photos from the roof of Seattle Grace Hospital taken after the discovery of Izzie Stevens' body." Isabella distributed the photos. "As you can see, the victim was nearly decapitated and her arms and hands are covered in defensive wounds." She paused for a long moment, letting the jury soak in what they were seeing before she continued her questioning. "After you discovered the body, what did you do?"
