Couple months later...

Mauldin: Do u think bout us? What we had?

Jan: Are you serious right now asking me this?!

Mauldin: I know I messed up. I need u to forgive me

Jan: Look I already forgave you. That was the only way I could move on with my life. Be able to move on with my boyfriend

Mauldin: I miss u. U been heavy on mind man
I want us to be more than what we got right now. You mean the world to me Cheeks

Jan: What is going on? Why are you texting me all of this all of a sudden. Why did you never say this before when I was single? You know I'm in a relationship. What changed? Why would you do this now?

Mauldin: U. U changed. I changed

Jan: You are for real tripping out right now. If you had told me this years ago...then maybe it...we could've repaired what we had. I can't do that now.

Mauldin: I'm older now and I know I was wrong the way I treated you. Being with you and seeing you put things in perspective for me. Seeing how you are with your son reminded me of how you were with my daughter. I want that life together with you. I'm sorry for fuckin it up. You are a good woman. It's my fault things went the way they did.

Jan: Look I'll always have love for you and Shaniah and she knows that. We can't go there again. We can never go back to that

Mauldin: Please just think bout it

Darius came in the room. He could see that she was in a panic when she was texting. She actually looked pale to him.

"Hey baby who texting?"

"Hey sweetie just Gil about tour stuff."

He didn't know why, but something was still off. He didn't believe her. Why was she hiding stuff from him? She was too jumpy all of a sudden the last few weeks.

"You good?"

"Yeah baby. Gil has me so stressed out is all. You know just changing things on me at the last minute." She put her phone in her back pocket.

"What's going on with you lately?"

"Nothing, why?"

"I know you're lying to me."

"What are you even talking about?" she asked getting defensive looking at him folding her arms across her chest.

"J you've been all weird and secretive."

"No, I'm not baby."

"You are. Look what's going on?"

"Darius I promise nothing is going on baby."

"You sure?"

"Yes love." She pecked his lips leaving out. He knew something was off. He knew her better then she knew herself. He took a deep breath. He didn't think she was cheating on him or anything. He hoped she wasn't...he didn't want to have to kill anyone or her.
