Janet POV

"Hey Mauldin."

"Hey Cheeks. What you up to?"

"Just hanging out with Eissa right now."

"You got any plans? I'm at my place in New York this week."

"Really?"

"Yup. Let's do dinner. I'll cook for you."

"Um... let me check my schedule and make sure my boyfriend doesn't have anything going on."

"The boyfriend huh?"

"Yes Mauldin. I already told you this. You don't listen."

"Ya'll been together for a min."

"Yes, we have been. Why? Is that an issue?" He straight up had me catching an attitude. It wasn't even any of his business.

"Naw just surprised y'all lasted this long is all."

"Really Mauldin! You already know I don't just jump from relationship to relationship like you."

"Just surprised is all."

"Really? You gonna go there. I think you want me to hang up this phone." I snapped off on him.

"Naw don't do that! Don't do that!! I'm just playing."

"No, you're not. Why are you bothering me?"

"Hang out with me."

"I'll let you know."

"Please..."

"I may have to bring Eissa with me."

"Oh that's cool. I haven't really hung out with him. Yeah bring him."

"Okay I'll keep you posted. Mauldin don't be acting stupid in front of my son."

He laughed out loud. "I won't I promise."

"Alright now."

Dario POV

We were still at our spot in New York. I loved this place as much as I'm loved her Malibu spot. I had told her that I wanted her to keep her Malibu place and this one too. In her room, she had a king size bed and a huge closet. I had asked why she needed a bed so big. She just gave me a look. I could only imagine what she used to do back in the day. But we definitely made use of it now.

I swear she had a lot of secrets, but she was slowly telling me stuff over time and she was definitely a freak. That I found out first hand when we went on vacation together. And also just living with her I found out a lot.

At this point, we got a lot settled. We bounced around between her places and mine. We were trying to decide what places to keep and what to sell. Since I was renting it made sense to let my place go so we were working on that.

"Hey buddy! What's wrong with you?" Eissa was pouting in his room.

"I don't wanna hang out with mommy's friend."

"Oh that's it." I chuckled. He nodded his head. I glanced back to make sure Janet wasn't around. "Well I need you to go and protect your mommy okay." He looked at me expectantly.

I knew what I was doing. I didn't trust Jermaine. I knew he still had a thing for Janet even if she denied it and said they were just friends. I thought she was naïve to the situation and his intentions towards her. I knew she was friends with some of her exes, but I just didn't trust it. Especially after the last situation with Kamaal. She told me nothing happened. And I trusted her. I believed her. I knew her and her heart. I just didn't trust them. I knew she felt the same way about my situation with Maritza.
