Dario POV

"Hey Joey have you seen Janet? I've been calling and texting her with no answer today."

"She had to make a quick trip to see her mom. She's not doing well."

"Oh shit seriously!?"

"Just give her some space. I'm sure she'll contact you."

It had now been a few days and I had only heard from her a few times through text and we spoke once briefly, just telling me she was okay and she'd call again when she had a free moment. She never said anything was going on with her mom. I was losing my mind not hearing her voice. I needed to make sure she was good. Joey didn't give me much info either. I got in contact with Gil.

"Hey Dario what's up?"

"Hey I was trying to reach Janet and she's not responding. I know her mom is sick or something. Can you give me the contact info so I can see her and make sure she good?"

"Listen I'm not supposed to it's a security thing. She should've given you some info."

"Seriously?! Dude I'm dating her. And she's been busy. I didn't even think to ask her."

"Yeah man."

"Shit I just want to make sure she's okay. I know she'd do the same for me if I was in a similar situation."

Gil was quiet for a minute.

"Listen I'll give the address of her mom's place."

"Gil thank you so much. I've been worried sick."

"Yeah I can tell. I hope Joey don't kill me for this. It's just we gotta be extra tight with security and her location after everything that's happened."

"Look I owe you."

"I know you do. Keep me posted on what's goin on."

"Aight."

Janet POV

"Hey momma."

"Yes sweetie."

"How are you feeling today?"

"I'm fine."

"Does your hip hurt any? Do you need any pain meds?"

"No, it's okay today."

"Just making sure."

"I need you to come and sit down. You are moving too much for me. You know I'm old, you makin me dizzy. Why are you pestering me today?"

I laughed. "Okay momma. What's going on?"

"What's going on with you? You've been preoccupied and fidgety? What's on your mind?"

"Nothing momma."

"Don't lie to me child."

I sighed she always knew when something was up. Even in her quiet ways and not wanting to be in the spotlight she knew her kids.

"Well momma I met someone. We've been dating for a while now. Well lately it's more serious. We had broken up, but we are...yeah we are finally good."

"I can tell he's someone special."

"You can?"

"Yes, you're glowing baby!"

"No, I'm not. Why does everyone keep saying that?!"

"You are dear." She then muttered under her breath. "You not pregnant are you baby?"

"No momma I'm not."
