Blazing Resonance and the Calamity Dragon

It’s been a week since I started my life at the Knight Academy.

Ever since that incident on the first day—when Cleve had a mental breakdown after insulting me—the students who originally disliked me changed their attitude. They went quiet. None of them dared to mess with me anymore, let alone hurl insults. At most, they just whispered behind my back. But… I didn’t care. As long as they didn’t tarnish my family’s honor, it didn’t matter.

A lot had happened in just one week. We studied the basics of magical resonance and worked with our teammates to synchronize different elemental affinities.

Since I possessed all the elemental attributes, I tried something that no other student could—combining my own elements.

That afternoon, after class, I teleported to the forest near the dorms using space-time magic. Once there, I got straight to work.

I closed my eyes and began weaving the elements together.

Fire—darkness—oxygen—heat energy—and gas. I merged them under a single will. My aura surged, swirling into a concentrated vortex of power.

> [Notification: Skill “Dark Flame” acquired]

“Huaaahahahaaa… I did it!”

I chuckled quietly, satisfied. I had successfully created a new skill by fusing elemental magic—Skill: Dark Flame.

“All right, time to test its power…”

“Dark Flame.”

A mass of jet-black fire shot forward and slammed into a large tree in front of me.

In an instant… the tree turned to ash.

“W-What the heck…? This is too powerful!” I froze. “Did I go overboard again…?”

Breathing heavily, I muttered, “That’s enough. Time to go home.”

The Next Day

Today, we were scheduled for a team training exercise to fight monsters in the forest. Finally, Frea-sensei arrived.

That woman—around 30 years old, with blazing red hair, a curvy figure, and a generously sized chest—was the swordsmanship instructor we had met on the first day.

To be honest, I liked Frea-sensei. Not because of her looks—well, maybe a little—but more because of her dedication and sincerity in teaching.

Deep within the forest, we were instructed to form five-person teams with different elemental attributes.

Without hesitation, I teamed up with Liza, Alden, Zen, and Leon.

Liza wielded ice,

Zen had wind,

Alden controlled earth,

Leon brought lightning,

and me… well, I had all of them.

But hey—that’s a secret.

Frea-sensei gave her instructions in a firm tone:

> “Listen carefully. Today, you will learn to fight as a team. No solo acts. No ego. You must protect one another. Choose a leader and follow their orders. Understood?!”

We glanced at each other.

“Who wants to be the leader?” Liza asked.

Alden rubbed his chin, thinking. “How about Avrora?”
