The Awakening of the Vampire - Arc Vampire

When I was trapped in the depths of despair, time suddenly came to a halt. Everything turned silent... until a chilling, eerie laughter echoed inside my head.

“Who?! Who are you?!”

“Do you desire power? Hehehe…”

Darkness. I stood alone in an endless void, unable to see anything. Is this… my subconscious?

Suddenly, a girl appeared before me. She looked just like me—silver-haired, red-eyed, dressed in an elegant black gown. Who is she?

“Then... can you help me? My father is in danger!”

“There’s one condition. You must evolve into the first stage: Arc Vampire. And to do that, you must drink human blood. Until now, you’ve never felt bloodlust because I sealed your vampire instincts. I’m going to release that seal now. Be ready. There’s no one else here… except your father. Can you do it? I can’t hold time much longer. The choice is yours, Avrora.”

Suddenly, I was pulled back into reality.

In front of me, Father lay on the ground, severely wounded. He urged me to run, but I couldn’t.

“Avrora! What are you doing?! Run!!” he shouted.

I bit my lip. If I drank his blood, he would know the truth about me. He might hate me… cast me out…

“GRAAAAAA!”

The dragon roared again. There was no time to hesitate.

Forgive me, Father. I don’t care if you hate me. I just want to save you.

“Rise, Stone Wall!”

I summoned an earthen wall to shield him.

“Father… please, let me have a little of your blood.”

He stared at me in shock.

“Avrora… you…”

“I’m sorry. Please, just hold on a moment!”

With fangs now protruding from my mouth, I sank my teeth into his arm. His blood flowed—warm, thick, and sweet. It was the first time I’d ever tasted human blood... and it felt so natural—too natural.

Three gulps. That’s enough.

I wiped the blood from my lips and looked into his eyes.

“Thank you, Father. Now... let me handle this.”

I stood before the dragon, no longer afraid.

I raised my hand.

A black portal opened, and I pulled out a giant dark scythe—like the weapon of a god of death.

Dart—my father—could only stare in stunned silence.

Is that really… Avrora?

The dragon roared, spewing fire and molten lava. I sliced through it with my scythe effortlessly.

“That’s all? Pathetic.”

I launched forward.

“Die!”

One clean strike. The dragon was cleaved in half and collapsed.

I knelt down and used my Healing skill. His wounds closed in an instant.

“Father… I’m sorry. The truth is… I’m a vampire. And I know I’m not your real daughter. But to me… you are my father. If you want me to leave—I will…”

But Father smiled.

“Avrora… you’re my daughter. Vampire or not, you are still my child. My firstborn.”

I couldn’t hold back my tears.

“Thank you, Father!” I cried, throwing my arms around him.

“There, there…” He gently stroked my hair.

“I’m sorry for biting you...”

“It’s fine. You saved my life. That’s more than enough.”

He wiped away my tears.

“Well then... let’s go home, Avrora. We’ve got tons of rare materials from that dragon. We can sell them for a fortune!”

“But… Father, will you tell Mother about what I really am?”

“Of course. But not right away. She loves you… I know she’ll accept you.”

“Okay then, let’s go home. We don’t have to walk anymore, right? I’ve mastered teleportation magic.”

“You never stop surprising me, Avrora.”

I opened a portal—a swirling black vortex: the Dimensional Space-Time Gate.

“Let’s go, Father.”

We stepped in together.

Returning Home

At home, Mother was cleaning when the black portal suddenly opened in the middle of the room.

“What in the world?!”

Father and I emerged from the swirling gate.

“Avrora… did you just come out of a black hole?!”

“Haha, that’s just Avrora. She’s mastered space-time magic!”

“Ehh?! That’s amazing, Avrora!”

“Ehehe…”

Suddenly, Alice ran over and hugged me tightly.

“Onee-chan! Welcome back!”

I smiled and hugged her back.

“I’m home, Alice-chan…”

And for the first time… I truly felt like I was home.
