CHAPTER 31

When Alex arrived at her room she saw Celine hugging Xia while she sat on her lap burying her face to Celine's chest and chloe beside her looking worried. I squinted my eyes as I changed the light's color.

"Is she awake?" Alex asked and Celine nodded. Alex approached Xia and took off her headphones.

"Hi baby". Alex said softly as she tried to get Xia from Celine but the kid didn't want to let go of her.

"I heard you yelled earlier before Xia came here". Celine. Alex sighed as she climbed the bed and sat beside her. She looks at Chloe who's looking at them worried.

"Did i wake you up?". Alex asked looking to chloe.

"Ahm i just heard voices next to the guestroom". Chloe said. The room next from the guestroom is the library.

"And why are you here?".

"I went out earlier and about to go with you but i saw Miss chloe heading downstairs so i called her in". Celine.

"How much did you hear?".

"I- just ahm From the be-".

"Nvm". Alex cut her off. She looks at Xia who's still burying her face to Celine's Chest.

"Baby, i'm sorry if dada yelled earlier. Dada is just angry because of your daddy. I don't want my baby to be hurt by someone. I'm sorry, dada is not angry at you ok? I'm just worried about what he did to you". Alex said softly as she rubbed Xia's back. But the kid remained silent and unmoved.

"Baby dada is not mad at you, i'm sorry. Can you give dada a hug now? Dada is sad now, look". Alex said urging Xia to look at her. Xia let go from Celine and look at Alex who's already smiling.

"You're not mad at me?" Xia with her soft and baby voice.

"Of course i'm not. But baby it's not nice throwing food.". Alex's soft voice as she carried Xia to sit on her lap.

"I'm sorry dada.".Xia

"Ok apology accepted. But don't throw food ok? If someone handed you or offered you a food and you don't want to, ask them nicely that you don't want it ok?". Alex said as she embraced Xia to a hug.

"Daddy beat me when he's mad but dada didn't". Xia's voice as she sobs again.

"Shhh baby. Your daddy won't do that to you anymore". Alex said assuring her nephew.
"Sleep now hmm. When you wake up i'm here".

"Promise?". Xia.

"Promise baby. And i'm sorry for yelling. I made you scared of me.". Alex whispered and started rubbing Xia's back until she fell asleep.

"Can i ask?". Chloe. Alex nodded in response with her serious face.

"Do you have other biological siblings". Chloe

"No. I'm just an only child. I don't consider her mother as my sister". Alex said looking at sleeping Xia.

"What did you tell them?" Celine.

"I made them choose and make a deal". Alex nonchalantly said as she put Xia down to bed.

"Deal?". Celine.

"Yeah, if they lay a hand to Xia again, i will file a case and restraining order for a child abuse or". Alex cut her words as she looked at the two in seriousness.

"Or?" Chloe.

"Or i'll beat him to death".Alex continues as she laughs. Chloe froze at what Alex said.

"Your bluffing". Celine said and rolled her eyes. Alex turned serious as she locked eyes to Celine.

"You know me". Alex said firmly. And slipped out of bed as she went outside.
