She wasn't dead.

That was Harper's first thought as she came to. She was lying on her side in the back of some sort of vehicle – a van? Her head bumped painfully against the floor.

Her hands and feet were bound together by rope, but he hadn't gagged her. Probably too far away for anyone to hear me scream, Harper realised miserably.

She felt hot tears collect on her cheeks as the fear entered her chest. She was strong, independent and brave, she'd proven that by now. But she didn't want to die.

She wondered how long they'd been driving and looked around to see if there were any clues but could see nothing, no identifiable information – there wasn't even spare rope or extra supplies in the back with her. She moaned in pain as they hit a particularly rough patch of the road, her cheek slamming into the floor as the car stopped.

Harper felt her breath quicken in the few moments before the side door pulled open. It was a man – short, white, clean-shaven. He just looked like... some guy. She didn't know what she had been expecting but it wasn't that. Her eyes widened in shock and fear,

"Who are you?"

"I think you already know the answer to that."

"Are you going to kill me?"

It was almost humorous; she had been kidnapped and she was still questioning this man as if she was conducting an interview. He looked at her for a moment before replying,

"I'm not going to kill you. The BAU, the team you wrongfully put your trust in – they are going to kill you."

"Why? Why me?" She tried to keep her voice from breaking, but it came out strained.
