Episode 11: "Backlash"

I walked into Coach's office, prepared for the worst. The scent of fresh coffee and worn leather filled the air.

"Your personal life is now public," Coach said, his tone disapproving, gesturing to the newspaper on his desk. "How do you plan to handle the pressure?"

"I've got this, Coach," I replied, confidence firm in my voice. "My game won't suffer."

Coach's expression turned skeptical, his bushy eyebrows furrowed.

"Easy to say, hard to do," Coach countered. "You're not just playing for yourself anymore. You're representing the team, the university, and our sponsors."

"I understand," I said, nodding. "But my relationship with Ishan won't distract me. We're solid."

Coach raised an eyebrow.

"Solid enough for the media storm?" Coach asked, his voice laced with concern. "The press conference is tomorrow. Be prepared."

I nodded.

"We've prepared for this," I said.

But Coach's words stung.

Was I really ready?

At practice, teammates whispered, their glances a mix of curiosity and concern.

Some avoided eye contact.

Mayank, however, stood by me, his handshake firm.

"Focus on the game," Mayank said. "We've got your back, Shubman."

But distractions surrounded me.

Reporters swarmed the campus.

Fans debated on social media.

Ishan's hand found mine, his touch calming.

"We'll face this together," Ishan whispered.

Together, we'd overcome.
