Episode 14: "Shadows of Doubt"

I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease as we walked back to our apartment. Shubman's words kept echoing in my mind: "Maybe they're right... Maybe I'm risking too much."

We sat down on the couch, and I tried to reassure him. "Shubman, we've been over this. Our relationship is strong. We can face anything as long as we're together."

But Shubman's expression remained uncertain. "I don't know, Ishan. What if we're not as strong as we think? What if our relationship is a distraction?"

I felt a pang of fear. Was Shubman really doubting us? "Shubman, where is this coming from? You're not thinking about what that text message said, are you?"

Shubman looked away, his eyes avoiding mine. "I don't know, Ishan. Maybe I am. Maybe I'm just scared."

I took a deep breath and reached out for his hand. "Shubman, we'll face this together. We'll figure it out."

But as I looked into his eyes, I saw a flicker of sadness. And suddenly, I was transported back to a time when I thought I'd lost everything.

The memories came flooding back, and I felt my eyes welling up with tears. Shubman noticed the change in me and reached out to comfort me.

But I pulled away, unable to face him. "I need some time alone," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

Shubman looked concerned, but he nodded. "Okay, Ishan. I'll give you some space."

As he walked away, I felt the shadows of my past closing in around me. And I knew that I had to confront them head-on.
