15. I don't think the world needs two of you, Kayax.

Author's Note: Okay, this book, in my head, was only supposed to be around 80,000 words, but either I REGRET to inform you, or I'm HAPPY to inform you that this book is gonna be...more than a wee bit longer than that. There is just so much more to the storyline. However, I can't make a sequel because I don't have enough to make a full sequel. Currently, this book has an estimated word count of 110,000 words. It could be a little longer or a bit shorter, depending on how LONG August and Kayax drag me through this book by the hair! Lmao. As opposed to other books, this one just has so many obstacles and things to tie up.<3 Yes, there will still be a bit of angst ahead. Cough. *stares at Lennox and Kayax* HOWEVER, I do have a surprise coming up for those of you who read 'Breathe.' Anyway, I hope you guys don't get bored because I really love this book, and it's making me so happy during the VERY stressful time of exam season. 

OH, ALSO, I finished the NaNoWriMo goal in two days. When I post chapters, they are freshly written. I have no idea what's going to happen in this story except for the main points. I just open a blank page on Wattpad, write, and post. I hardly edit except for Grammarly. I'm not supposed to because it's a NaNoWriMo book. So, yeah, I wrote 50,000 words in the last two days. (I had a break from school, it's okay.) So, I hope you guys enjoy it! We're all going to be surprised together because who knows what's ahead. All I know is that there is a happy ending.<3

"Don't you dare say a word--"

"You're an idiot. There. That was three words."

I aimed another pen at the cup holder on my desk. "If I make this, I will tell August all my disgusting feelings." I faked as if I was going to throw it toward the cup, but at the last second, I speared the pen toward the wall to my right. "Oh, darn."

Brutus aimed a pen this time, taking this tongue between his teeth in concentration. As for me, I kicked my boots on top of the table and crossed my ankles as I watched him. "If I make this fucking shot, Kayax has to supply the good coffee in this abominable building." He tossed it as I rolled my eyes, and it landed perfectly. "Boom. Bring on the good coffee, boss."

"You could have just asked, Brutus. There was no need for the dramatics." Snatching another pen, I started focusing on the cup. "Okay, I'll do one for real. But you pick for me."

"If you fake this one out, I will give you the silent treatment for thirty days."

I shrugged. "I went a little more than six years with your silent treatment. You think I can't handle a month?"

"I don't know; I seem to be your only friend. That's sad, by the way. I'm forty-two."

Scoffing, I put my attention back on the cup. "I'm the one with major trust issues. That's why you called me an idiot, or do I need to remind you of that?"

"No, I called you an idiot because you are scared to trust the spawn of Elijah Luna--wondering if he's going to pull some evil trick on you. Listen, I get it; you have trauma, kid. However, you have to realize that they fought wars to ensure that this kind of torture doesn't exist, right? Elijah Luna dedicated an entire album to it, Kayax. For fucks sake."

I set the pen down, sighing roughly. "No, I know. I had a moment of weakness. But the guy makes me weak." I spread my arms out and pancaked into the chair with a groan. "Also, I'm super sorry that not all of us youngins could be alive in the prehistoric era." I covered my mouth as I kissed my fingers. "Op, sorry. I mean, alive during Elijah Moon days."
