Zandre's room had a vibe that felt almost too comfortable. I leaned back into the plush pillows on his bed, my legs curled under me, letting the faint scent of his cologne mingle with the earthy tang of weed smoke.

This is my life now guys....

Since my sister and I moved in with our brother-in-law, things had been okay.. Dwayne aguh mek sure we good.

Since moving in with him, I couldn't help but notice how much he reminded me of my actual brother, Zach—protective, teasing, and always overstepping in that "I know best" way. It annoyed me then, but since lately we'd been hanging out more, that brotherly energy felt... different.

I sighed, biting my lip at the thought of how close we'd gotten. I prayed that both my sister and sister-in-law would have girls because the last thing we needed was more testosterone in the family. I shook my head at the idea, chuckling softly to myself.

Mi tiyad a dem, and den outta nowhere him and Zach just get close suh..

"Yuh good?" Zandre's voice snapped me out of my spiraling thoughts. His tone was teasing but with a note of curiosity.

"What?" I asked, blinking at him.

He smirked, tilting his head. "Nuh plan fi come outta yuh head now?"

I rolled my eyes, shaking off my embarrassment. "When you stop smoking," I shot back, nodding toward the joint in his hand.

He's Been smoking since we entered the room.

His chuckle was low and warm, curling into the air like the smoke. Without a word, he stubbed the joint out in the ashtray and shifted closer to me.

My breath hitched as he sank onto the bed beside me, his head finding its way to rest on my chest. The casual intimacy made my heart stutter, but I stayed still, willing myself to act unbothered.

And you're far from that right now

Right...

"Wah mek yuh suh distracted anyway?" he asked after a moment, his voice muffled against me.

"Just... stuff," I replied vaguely, not wanting to explain how much he'd been occupying my thoughts lately.

Zandre sat up after a moment, his arm brushing against mine as he grabbed my phone. Before I could protest, he turned it off and placed it face down on the table. "Focus pon me and yuh now ," he muttered, his voice low and intent.

"Zandre—" My words died when his fingers found the bottom of my face, tilting my chin so my eyes locked with his. A flush spread across my cheeks as his gaze bored into me. His thumb brushed my jawline, and every nerve in my body felt like it was on fire. My chest tightened, and my breath caught. How could someone's touch feel so light but so commanding?
