{Jihyo} - she comforts you when you get scolded - TWICE tenth member

"Y/N, you're up next." The manager said as you watched Dahyun finish up her pictures.

Today, the ten of you are on set to get some concept photos for the upcoming album done.

You're excited, all of you are.

But you're feeling pretty tired since you haven't been sleeping much due to your schedule being packed again as the comeback approaches.

Interviews, photoshoots, filming, recording, practicing the choreography, rehearsing for the stages, and preparing for a tour are all happening at one time and it's a lot.

The ten of you aren't getting more than a couple hours of sleep each night, give or take a little sometimes depending on how the day goes and what all there is to do that specific day.

You finished taking a few sips of water as the staff fixed your hair and makeup once more before Dahyun was done and it was your turn to get your pictures done.

The manager guided you over to where you'd be taking your pictures.

There were a few props you could have fun posing with and from the corner of your eye, you could see all of your members watching.

"Ready?" The photographer asked.

You always try to enjoy things like this.

Concept photos are supposed to be fun and bring out the vibe of the album but you should also get to have a good time while taking them.

You're especially excited about this comeback so you wanted one of your photos to be a little playful.

As the photographer prepared to take the picture of you posing with you looking forward and a cute expression on your face, at the very last second you decided to do a fun little pose.

You smiled from ear to ear and stuck your arms out as you looked at the camera, your excitement and joy evident.

"That's not what we're looking for right now. Try it again." The manager said.

You looked at the girls and watched them shake their heads but not at you, rather at the manager for the photos having to be so specific.

You went back to doing a normal pose but just as your picture was about to be taken, you put your thumbs up and winked at the camera with a grin.

"No! No photos like that. We just want you looking into the camera with a little smile. Come on, do it right."

The manager's words stung a little but you're known as the playful one in the group, this is something you do quite often and it has never been a problem for anyone before.

But you brushed it off and figured you'd try once more to do something fun.

As your picture was taken a moment later, you playfully stuck out your tongue and gave yourself bunny ears.

This made your members and some of the staff chuckle.

But your manager had the opposite reaction.

"Hey!" He said before coming over to you. "Do you know how to listen or not? I have told you three times now to do a normal pose! There's a time to be playful but it's not right now, not when we have so much to do. Be normal! Take two nice normal photos then go back to the set. You're on my last nerve. I'm out of patience so don't do it again. You're an idol, you should know better!"

His scolding was pretty hurtful.

The joy and excitement you once felt was now long gone.

Now, all that you could see on your face was sadness and disappointment.

You did your best to do what he suggested you do and once your photo was done being taken, you went back to your seat and looked at the floor with sad eyes.

"Mina, you're next!"

Mina stood up and gave your shoulder a squeeze before she went to have her photos taken.

The other girls were very unhappy with the manager though and they switched between glaring at him and looking at you in worry.

"I've got her," Jihyo whispered to the girls before getting up from her seat to come and sit in the empty one beside you, where Mina had been sitting. "Are you okay, Y/N?'

You nodded wordlessly but Jihyo wasn't convinced at all.

"We've known each other for so long. You can't fool me."

You looked at her, your sad eyes meeting hers.

You were so quiet and looked so hurt that you couldn't even try to deny how you felt deep down.

"We're going to have to talk to JYP. That was uncalled for."

"Maybe he's right. Maybe I was being unprofessional. I'm an idol, I should know better."

"Y/N, we work our asses off. We deserve to have fun and be playful sometimes too! Even concept photos can be fun and cute sometimes. They don't have to be serious, not to that extent. Not to the point where you need to be scolded like that. He said so many things that crossed the line and are not okay."

You let out a sad sigh before she reached for your hand.

"I don't annoy you, do I? By being playful? Any of you?"

"No. Not at all. We love how playful you are. It brings us happiness and makes things a lot more fun. While we all love what we do more than anything, it can be exhausting sometimes. You make it so fun and so exciting. Trust me, we love you and your playfulness."

She gave your hand a couple of squeezes.

"You're amazing. You make us all laugh and smile and you bring so much to TWICE that we cherish so much. We wouldn't ever want you to change. You can be playful sometimes."

"Absolutely not."

"Well, I think this manager needs a good kick in the butt and to change his attitude. Trust me, we've all agreed that we're talking to JYP about what he said and how he spoke to you. You don't deserve that, none of us do."

You cracked a smile as she intertwined her fingers with yours.

"We love you, don't ever forget how much you mean to all of us. All of you, including your cute and fun personality."

"I love you all too."

She leaned in and gave you a big hug, promising that she'd never let this happen again.

The manager went a little too far and she was going to do something about it to make sure that he knew how unacceptable it truly was.
