When the sun pecked through the dusty blinds of Valaries room she knew it was her que to get up. She had to watch Chloe,Maya, and Judith today but didn't want to keep them cooped up in the house so she knew she had to come up with an idea. It had to be around 9 and she didn't have to be there until 11 so she had some time to kill. Most of the house was already awake but some might have been hung over from the welcoming party last night.
Walking down the stairs, she saw majority of the group having their morning coffee and discussing plans for the day. She hoped today Rick would call out Pete for his actions. She spotted a worried looking Rosita in the Corner with Tara and decided to walk over to the kitchen
"Hi guys" she said, grabbing a water from the fridge and looked around for Alora who was no where to be seen "where's Lor?" Valarie questioned slowly as Rosita looked to Tara who had her head down
"What? What is it? Where is she?" Valarie went on, raising her voice
"She went on a run with Glenn 3 days ago and we haven't seen them since then" Rosita said lowly, looking at Maggie who was discussing plans with Rick to look for them.
"What do you mean haven't seen them? Where my sister" she spun on her feet and looked at Rick and Maggie
"She's with Glenn, he will keep her safe" Rick said "we will have gaureds posted up, waiting for them to come back so until then I wouldn't start freaking out yet" he walked out of the room with Michonne
"Don't freak out?" She yelled as he shut the door. Everyone looked at her with a sorry look. "They are probably fine, Glenn knows how to survive and Alora can fight" Maggie said
"Your right, me and Judy are about to leave and go to Jessie's to watch some other kids " she mumbled. Once she got Judy's bag ready and looked presentable, she walked to Jessie's house for the day. She had decided to take them to the animals of the community for some entertainment
She knocked softly at the door and it was answered by Ron, her oldest son. "Your Valarie?" He questioned, not letting her through the door until she confirmed.
"Who else would I be?" She smarted back as Jessie came up behind him before he could retort. "Valarie! The girls are in the living room." She said letting Val in.
"Is it okay if I walk them around town today?" She asked, not wanting it to seem like she kidnapped her kid
"Yes of course but keep an eye on them" Jessie said, grabbing her purse and walking out with Ron leaving Val with the girls.
"Ree!" The both said, hugging her. "What are we going to do today?" Maya questioned as Chloe waited for a exiting answer.
"Would y'all like to see the animals?" Val questioned as they ushered "yes yes yes". "Okay go put on some play clothes and meet me back down here" she laughed, setting Judith in the baby bouncer so she could make a quick go bag with snacks.
She heard heavy footsteps coming down the stairs and heard a louse voice yelling at the girls to stop yelling and froze, Pete. Pouring some puffs into a ziplock bag, she watched as Pete recognized her and Judith and started walking to the baby bouncer
Valarie inched over to where they were as Pete harshly picked up Judith. Why did he have to yell at the girls?
"oh hi" she said, making sure she didn't sound fragile even though she was growing angry
"Why are you in my house again?" He slurred with Judith in his disgusting arms . "I'm babysitting, it's my job. How about you go do yours?" She said, gritting her teeth. a loud pop was heard as Pete slapped her jaw hard making her stumble backwards in pain. Clutching her face, he shoved Judith who was screaming by now into her arms and slammed the front door to the house. What the actual fuck
Valarie was left with a screaming baby and a aching jaw. Maya and Chloe were sitting at the bottom of the stairs and ran over to Valarie
"Ree?" Chloe questioned
"Just give me a minute honey" her voice waivered, giving Judith her pacifier and setting her down. She grabbed a cold cloth a wetted it right where he slapped her. A dark red hand print was on the side of her jaw. Just make it through the day
She didn't want to make too big of a commotion because it would just be worse for the girls. She knew rick was going to handle it but it didn't seem like he was
Taking a deep breath, she turned to the small girls "how about we learn some cool dances today instead?" She asked, trying not to cry as they ran upstairs and got the record player.
The day went by pretty fast so when the time came for Valarie and Judith leave she hurried around the house to get their stuff before Pete got home. Rosita was supposed to come walk her home and pick up some thing for the pantry so she wanted to get out of there asap. With Judith's diaper bag on her shoulder shoulder and Judith on her hip, she opened the door for jessie with her head down, who thanked her quickly and headed to the restroom. She didn't notice the bruise thank god
Rosita followed Jessie in to get Valarie, who's head was still down. Maya and Chloe both hugged her and started walking to the Kitchen before Chloe turned around "Sorry he hit you Ree, I'll try and make him not to next time" she smiled and walked away. Shit shit shit I don't want a big ordeal
