"Almost made it to heaven,
it was closer than you know."
Leilani didn't know where to go.
Her mind was filled with some many thoughts, insults and the like that it made it hard to focus on anything but the fog they created. Her body was shaking as she cried, stumbling through the town she was raised in and had forced herself to hate
Fuck the world. It was a piece of shit.
The Hawaiian found herself walking to the skatepark she used to go to when she was younger to escape the house. It wasn't completely deserted when she got there, with two boys skating around. She moved down the field instead towards the river that flowed through that way, sitting cross-legged close to it.

"Hey Lani."
"Hi," Leilani's voice was a whisper. "What are you doing?"
"I'm just leaving the MTC with Lando," Oscar replied. "What's up?"
There was silence on the other end. Then in the most quiet voice, Leilani whispered.
"Oscar, I did something really stupid."
"Lani? Are you okay?" Ocsar questioned. "I'm sure whatever you did is okay. What did you do?"
"Everyone thinks I'm broken, my family don't like me, they think I'm a waste of space. I can't do this anymore," Leilani's voice quivered. "And I wanted you to know it isn't your fault and that you were my favourite person. I think I've always had feelings for you and I need you to know—"
