"All's well that ends well to end up with you

Swear to be overdramatic and true to my lover"

Oscar Piastri was a man of his word; he was someone who didn't like to lie to the people closest to him and never seemed to show his frustration even when he was feeling it. He genuinely cared about other people and what they had to say, at minimum giving them respect even if he didn't like them.

Leilani Kahulia was the only person — the only — who had ever made him feel anger. It was never towards her, Oscar knew she wasn't perfect but she rarely upset him, but towards those who had caused her harm. There were people in the world that made Leilani think she shouldn't be in it and that made Oscar angrier than any racing incident, media story or lie ever could.

The Formula 1 season was back in full swing and Oscar found himself worrying about the girl he'd left in England; he'd felt better after making sure her university fees were paid and that she was doing okay but he still worried.

Their feelings had been put aside and unspoken of since that night as Oscar didn't feel like Leilani was stable enough to make decisions about her love life and he wasn't going to make her feel taken advantage of. Oscar adored her — perhaps even loved her — but those word weren't going to be said until Leilani was sure she 100% felt the way she said it and didn't just say it in the spur of the moment.

Leilani didn't do many things unless she meant to.

"Why are you so jittery?" Miya questioned lightly.

They were in one of the study spaces on campus, attempting to complete their latest essay but Leilani couldn't find the focus. Her mind couldn't help but travel to the text message she'd yet to answer. It raced the events of the last few days and how the guilt still ate at her and the anxiety got worse.

"I'm not—"

"You've just typed the word 'the' five times in a row...I don't know about you but I don't call it 'the the the the the war'," Miya pointed out in amusement. "Spill."

"Miya, if I tell you...you can't freak out."

"Me? Freak out? Never."

"Miya, this is serious," Leilani emphasised. "Really serious."

Miya furrowed her eyebrows but nodded, the smile dropping from her face. Leilani hadn't had the time to tell her about the events nor did she want Miya to worry about her; she was already an inconvenience as it was.

"Look, you know that I've had depression since I was young...and sometimes my family can make it worse," Leilani began slowly. "I had an episode and I don't really want to get not it. But, the point is that Oscar was there and I really freaked him out."
