Chapter 18 - Moved On

Katy's POV
I was kind of disappointed to be back in Wales. But also kind of happy. But mostly I was disappointed that it was time to go back to school. I got up early and got ready quickly. I did my usual amount of makeup and just brushed through my hair and added my extensions. Once I was ready I sent Leo a text.

Hey I would really like to talk to you😔 can I walk to school with you?❤️
I sat on the edge of my bed and nervously bit my nails while I waited for a reply. After an anxious few minutes of waiting I got a reply.

I guess that you can walk with me, I'll knock when I'm ready💛

I went downstairs to get some breakfast to see Tia dressed in her new school uniform.
"Do you start your new school today?" I asked.
"No I'm just wearing a school uniform for fun," she sarcastically replied. Tia was going to a school that was supposed to be slightly better than mine. But it was an hour away on the bus or half an hour in the car. I made some toast and smothered it in Nutella while Tia told me about how excited she was to make new friends.
"How was being home?" she asked after blabbering on about her new school.
"Here's home," I told her. "But it was great to see everyone again."
"Did you... Uh... hear about?" she stuttered.
"Yes," I shrugged.
"And you're okay?" she questioned.
"I'll never be 'okay' but I'm moving on," I told her. Then I heard a knock at the door. I ran to the door to see Leo.
"Bye!" I shouted through the house before leaving.

We started walking in silence.
"I want to say sorry," I told him. "For everything. I've been going through a lot lately but it's no excuse. I've been letting everything get to me. I want to tell you more about that but somewhere more private. I'm sorry for the way I treated you. It was unfair on you. I just pushed you away and left you in the dark. I hope you can forgive me." Leo stayed silent for a minute.
"I forgive you," he smiled. "I hope we can be friends again," I was happy that he had forgiven me. But he said he wanted us to be friends. At that moment I knew that I had completely blown my chances with him.

When we got to school I ran to my friends.
"Katyyy!" they all shouted. We had a big group hug and stumbled about.
"How was Ireland?" Hailey asked.
"It was amazing!" I exclaimed. "How was Spain? And Regina how was Lanzarote?" They all started filling me in on how their holidays were.
"So are things okay with you and Leondre?" Izzy asked.
"Yeah I apologised to him," I told them.
"I'm surprised your fine considering his new girlfriend," Georgina stated.
"He has a new girlfriend?" I exclaimed.
"You didn't know?" Lola asked.
"His new girlfriend is Tamzin," Regina announced. If I had been drinking at that moment I would have done a pretty good spit take. As if on cue the Queen Bitches went strutting over to Leo. Tamzin and Leo shared a pretty intimate make out session.
"I just threw up in my mouth," I announced turning back to look at them all.
"Are you okay?" Hailey asked.
"I will be," I frowned.

At the end of the day I started walking home by myself. I was just about to my earphones in my ear when I heard someone shout my name. I turned to see Leo. He came walking up to me.
"Hey," he smiled.
"Hey," I replied. We started walking in an awkward silence.
"I heard you went home for Easter," he tried to make conversation.
"Here's home," I told him. "But yeah I went to stay with my best friend Caitlin,"
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"Yeah," I nodded and forced a smile.
"Faking a smile won't make me think otherwise," he told me. I just shrugged. "Katy what's wrong?"
"I'm fine," I insisted.
"You're not,"
"Okay I'm not!" I exclaimed. "I'm just... I'm just being ridiculous,"
"What is it?" he continued. He wasn't going to give up until he was satisfied with my answer. We walked in silence for a minute. I tried to figure out what to say.
"I just hoped that we could get back together," I sighed. "But I'm just glad that you've forgiven me." With that I was outside my house. I quickly rushed inside before he could say anything else.

I went up to my room and started playing my music. My phone buzzed with a message. I unlocked my phone and read it.

I quickly replied.

I collapsed on my bed and burst into tears. It was ridiculous. I thought that I could just swan right back in after hurting him and get him back. That doesn't work. I would just have to get over him.
