Chapter 20 - The Actual Truth

Katy's POV
I woke up excited on Saturday because Leo, Hailey, Georgina, Izzy, Regina and Lola were all staying at mine. But I was also nervous because I was finally going to tell them about everything. I've never really fully talked about everything. Not all at once. But today I finally was going to. They deserved to know.

I had a quick shower after waking up. I then got changed into a 5SOS t-shirt and high waisted jeans. I brushed through my hair and put my extensions in. I then put on my usual amounts of makeup. I then set up sleeping bags around my bedroom for everyone to sleep on.

I sat in the living room and waited for everyone to arrive. They weren't due to arrive for another half an hour so I put on SpongeBob.
"You alright?" Tia asked while walking into the room.
"Yeah," I simply replied.
"What time are your friends getting here?" she questioned.
"Soon," I answered after checking my phone.
"I can't wait to meet them," she told me. "I mean you've told me so much about them!"
"Just don't be annoying," I sighed.
"For that I might just be!" she exclaimed. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. I ran and opened the door to reveal Hailey. I gave her a big hug and invited her inside.

We all sat in my bedroom eating junk food.
"Okay I have a confession," I told them all.
"You're wardrobe door is covered in photos of Leo?" Lola joked.
"No," I awkwardly replied.
"You keep a picture of Leo under your pillow?" Georgina joked.
"To be fair I keep a poster of Harry Styles under my pillow," Regina admitted. We all stared at her.
"Can I just tell you guys something?" I asked slightly irritated.
"Is it that you secretly have a cardboard cut out of Leo?" Izzy joked.
"Okay this is getting creepy," Leo awkwardly laughed.
"What is it you want to tell us?" Hailey asked.

I took a deep breath.
"So there's a lot I haven't told you," I started. I slowly spoke. "When I was 11 my uncle Tony O'Brien raped me. Exactly 3 years ago in 2 days time." I felt tears drop down my face. Thinking about it made me want to throw up. Leo firmly held my hand.
"You don't need to tell us," Hailey told me. "We know it must be difficult for you,"
"There's more," I told them. "That's when I started spiralling out of control. I will admit that I've been out of control. I blamed myself. After I went to the police everyone treated me like I was made of china. Then he was prosecuted and I thought it could be over. But my parents stopped paying me any attention. When I was hurting they weren't there to comfort me. I started running away. When I was 12 I met a boy who was 15 and he took advantage of me. He hurt me. And I wish I could just turn back the clock but I can't. I managed to end things with him eventually. But then I went extremely out of control. I pushed people away. I numbed the pain with drinking. The feeling of cigarettes on my lips soothed the emptiness I felt inside. Moving here was the best thing that has happened. Meeting all of you. And I want you to know that I love you all." Leo pulled me into a big hug.

Leo's POV
I held Katy tight as she cried into my shoulder. I heard the door open and looked up to see Tia. She sat down on the bed beside Katy.
"I'm proud of you," she whispered. "That was a brave thing to do K. Mum and dad are proud of you. I'm proud of you." Katy pulled away from me slightly to look at her sister.
"Eaves dropping were you?" she half laughed.
"I was waiting for the perfect time to get out your embarrassing childhood photos!" Tia giggled.
"I think I want to see those," I laughed.
"Don't encourage her!" Katy exclaimed while hitting my chest playfully.

We put on a movie and all led down were we going to sleep. Katy and I were in the bed and everyone else was on the floor. I wrapped my arm around Katy's waist and pulled her closer to me.
"I love you," I whispered in her ear.
"I love you so much," she replied.
