Chapter 28 - Homesick

Katy's POV
I sat in the car on a journey to yet another place that I wouldn't get to explore. All of the travelling made me feel weird. I missed the normality of days back home. I missed the morning conversations with Auntie Jenny while we ate our breakfast. I missed the days shopping with Tia. I missed the sleepovers with Hailey, Regina, Georgina, Izzy and Lola. I missed home. I was homesick.

I had never experienced this before. When on holiday I would enjoy getting away from everything for a while. I would enjoy exploring and experiencing new things. But this time I just feel sad and deeply missed being at home. The weirdest thing was, it had only been 4 days.

"Are you okay?" Leo asked me while I was staring out the window deep in thought.
"Yeah, it's just..." I started then trailed off.
"It's just what?" he pushed for an answer.
"I think I'm feeling a bit homesick," I told him.
"It's only been 4 days," Charlie told me.
"I know that's the weirdest part,"
"Why do you feel like this?" Leo questioned.
"I don't know," I answered truthfully. I stared out of the window and watched the world fly past. "Maybe it's... Maybe it's the fact that I'm not doing much. I'm just travelling, sitting out back by myself, eating and then going to sleep in a different hotel every night. Maybe I need to do something different," I spoke my thoughts.
"Why don't you go and explore for a bit?" Charlie asked. "Bristol is a great city to shop in,"
"We're in Bristol?" I asked realising that I no longer even knew where we going to everyday.
"Yeah go and spend a bit of you time. Doing nothing must get really boring," Charlie told me.
"Okay, I'll do that," I agreed.

Leo's POV
As we did the signing all I could think about was Katy. I felt bad because I was the one who had made her come with us. I felt bad that I couldn't really do anything to make her feel better.

At the end of the signing I went out back to find that Katy wasn't back from exploring yet. I decided to text her to see where she was.

I got a reply after a few minutes.

Just in Primark doing a bit of shopping🙈 have you finished the signing?😘 xxx

We went back to the hotel. I sat on the bed with my phone and waited for Katy to get back.
"Leo chill," Charlie told me while I was staring at my phone.
"What?" I replied confused.
"Chill out," he repeated. "Katy is fine stop worrying about her. You don't need to be with her all of the time. And you don't need to worry about her all of the time. Just relax and give her space to breathe," I thought about what he said for a few moments.
"You're right," I replied. "I need to chill out for a bit,"
"Great now get ready and we'll meet Katy at Wagamamma's," he told me. I laughed at how typical it was that he wanted a Wagamamma's.

When we met Katy she had loads of shopping bags on her arms.
"Buying all of the stores?" I joked.
"Sometimes I like a bit of retail therapy okay?" she smiled. We all had a nice chat over dinner and had a lot of fun.

We slowly started walking back to the hotel. I carried a few of Katy's bags for her since she had a lot. We all messed around and had loads of fun. We eventually got back to the hotel. I gave Katy a good night kiss then went back to the bedroom.

I got ready for bed then clambered in. I spent ages on Instagram. Then I waited until I knew Katy was asleep and I sent her a text.

I hope you're feeling better now💗 I hate knowing that you're not feeling your happiest, it makes me want to just hug you until everything is better🙈 I love you so much bby❤️ xxx

I then put my phone down and went to sleep.
