Chapter 31- Summer Plans

Katy's POV
A fairly uneventful few months passed and suddenly it was nearly summer. I just had to survive one more day and then it was my favourite time of year. Everything about summer makes me feel happy and relaxed: the weather, the beach, shopping trips, plenty of time to read as many books as possible and no school. Every year, even if my friends constantly bail on me I still enjoy the time by myself.

However, this year summer would be different. Leo and Charlie were going on a tour around the UK and Ireland and Leo wanted me to go with them. I was excited to see more of the UK than I've ever seen before, but part of me was quite worried about how much time I'd have to spend doing my favourite summer things. It also meant I would have to miss out on so many fun days with Hailey, Megan, Grace, Poppy and Chloe, who I had become best friends with.

"Last day today!" Hailey greeted me with a huge hug as soon as I reached school. "I can't believe I'm hardly going to see you over the summer,"
"We'll just have to make the most out of the week we will have together," I frowned slightly.
"I still can't believe your boyfriend is stealing you from me!" she joked. At that moment as if by fate Leo walked past. But you know what they say, speak of the devil and he'll appear.
"Leo!" Hailey called him over to us. "You better take good care of my Katy baby over the summer," she joked while hugging me. We all laughed and then started chatting excitedly before lessons.

The last day always seems almost pointless. All you do is watch an hours worth of 5 different movies (or 4 if it's a half day) throughout the day. And the most annoying thing ever is not knowing how the movie ends. Another really annoying thing is that one teacher who makes you watch an awful movie just because it relates to what you've spent the whole year learning. *cough* my rs teacher *cough* But on the other hand, watching terrible movies is better than an actual lesson any day.

When the end of the day finally came I almost didn't want to leave. For once I left it would mean that I was no longer a year 9 student. KS3 would be well and truly over and I would have to face the dreaded GCSEs. *shudder* However, I did not want to spend any longer at school than I had to when I had a whole summer full of possibilities in front of me. (dial down the optimism please)

Hailey, Megan, Grace, Poppy, Chloe, Leo and I all went to costa for a little bit to spend sometime together. We had a lot of fun and a good laugh. I walked back home with Leo slowly. When we reached our houses we shared a kiss before going into our houses. Usually we wouldn't have gone to one of our houses together but we were going on the tour tomorrow so we decided to spend time with our families instead. Tia and I had a movie night and stuffed our faces until we felt sick. I was excited to spend summer with Leo and Charlie but I knew that I was going to miss all of my friends and family a lot.
