AUTHOR'S POV :

Two weeks later,

“Aadhriti, listen to me once!”

“Don’t run, please…you’ll hurt yourself!” Ishan’s voice cracked as he called after her, desperation carving through every syllable. The chaos of the street roared around him, honking cars, blinding headlights but to him, the world had narrowed to a single point: her.
The girl running ahead, slipping further away with every frantic step.

Aadhriti had begged him to stay away. And yet here he was chasing her, helpless against the pull that kept dragging him back.
She ran as if fleeing from ghosts, from memories too heavy to bear. Tears streamed down her face, warm and relentless, blurring her vision. She wiped them away with trembling hands, but they returned, spilling freely as the ache in her chest grew unbearable. Every breath came in shallow bursts; every heartbeat felt like it might tear her apart.

It wasn’t just the storm outside, it was the storm inside her that kept her running, even when her legs burned and her lungs screamed for air.
And so, she pushed forward, shoes slipping on the slick road, refusing to stop. Refusing to let the pain win. Refusing to let the storm consume her.

“Aadhriti!”
Ishan’s shout cracked through the downpour. He sprinted after her, his heart pounding in sync with the rhythm of his fear. He was close…so close he could almost reach her hand when a shrill horn split the night.

The sound was sharp, brutal.
A car skidded around the corner, tires screeching against wet tar. The driver struggled for control as the vehicle veered sideways.
For a moment, time froze.

Aadhriti turned, eyes wide, hair plastered to her face, breath caught in her throat.
And then, the world shattered.

The impact came like thunder, a sickening thud followed by the screech of brakes and the echo of his scream. Her body was thrown into the air before collapsing onto the hard, rain-drenched ground.

Then….silence.
The kind that devours everything.

Ishan stood there, paralyzed, the horror sinking into his bones. The storm raged around him, but all he could see was her, lifeless, still.
He couldn’t move. Couldn’t breathe. The world blurred until all that remained was her name…
“Aadhriti!”
