AUTHOR'S POV :

After a few minutes, they slowly parted from the embrace, though the warmth of it still lingered between them, like a memory refusing to fade. The tracks of dried tears glistened faintly on their faces, but for the first time in what felt like an eternity, a soft, genuine smile touched their lips. It was fragile, almost hesitant, yet filled with something they had long forgotten…peace.

Ishan exhaled shakily, the breath trembling with disbelief and relief. His heart was still struggling to accept the reality unfolding before him. Slowly, almost reverently, he raised a trembling hand and cupped Aadhriti’s cheek. His thumb brushed along her skin, tracing the faint warmth there as if he needed to feel her, to remind himself that she was real, that this wasn’t another cruel dream the universe had conjured to torment him.

Before he could say anything, Siddharth’s voice broke through the silence, slicing through the tender moment with his characteristic mischief.

“Toh… mere pyar ke panchiyo, udte bhin-bhinate mil hi gaye aakhir,” he teased, grinning.

(So… my lovebirds, fluttering and buzzing around, finally reunited, huh?)

Ishan rolled his eyes at the ridiculous metaphor, while Aadhriti’s soft chuckle slipped through her lips, light and sweet like the calm after a storm.

“Panchi nahi bhin-bhinate, makhi bhin-bhinati hai jaise abhi tu bhin-bhina raha hai humare paas,” Ishan shot back, sarcasm dripping from his tone.

(Birds don’t buzz, only flies do—and right now, you’re buzzing exactly like one near us.)

“Haan, haan! Ab dono ko milwa diya na, toh main makhi dikhunga hi. Warna uss din se toh aadhi biwi bana ke rakha tha,” Siddharth retorted dramatically.

(Yeah, yeah! Now that I’ve reunited you two, of course I’ll seem like a fly. But since that day, you’d practically made me your half-wife!)

Aadhriti looked at him, half amused, while Ishan shook his head and tucked a loose strand of her hair behind her ear, a small, intimate gesture that made her heart stumble for a beat.

“Tum isse chhodo, yeh batao, tum yahan kaise?” he asked, his tone soft but curious. The amusement in her eyes faded, replaced by hesitation, fragile and uncertain. Her fingers fidgeted with the edge of her dupatta as she turned to him.
