The red skies of Planet Vegeta had started to rumble with tension. The air carried the acrid scent of impending destruction, a palpable warning that something catastrophic was about to unfold. Inside a dimly lit bunker, Bardock and Gine worked feverishly, their faces etched with determination and despair. The fate of their children, Kakarot and Karia, lay in their hands.

Gine knelt beside two identical pods, her trembling hands carefully strapping her infant daughter into one of them. Karia, unlike her twin brother Kakarot, had a fierce glint in her eyes, even as a baby. Her tiny fists balled up as she wailed, the sound echoing through the bunker.

"She’s so strong already," Gine whispered, her voice cracking.

Bardock glanced over, his battle-hardened face softening for just a moment. "She’ll need to be. If what I’ve seen is true, Frieza won’t spare anyone. Not even children."

Gina shivered at the mention of Frieza. The tyrant’s reputation as a ruthless destroyer was known across the galaxy. "Do you think they’ll survive out there? Away from us?"

Bardock placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "They have to. Kakarot will grow up on Earth, far from Frieza’s reach. He’ll be safe. And Karia…" He hesitated, his gaze lingering on his daughter. "She’s destined for something greater. I can feel it."

A loud explosion shook the bunker, and dust rained down from the ceiling. Bardock’s scouter beeped wildly, detecting Frieza’s forces closing in. "We’re out of time!" he barked.

Gene hurriedly sealed Kakarot’s pod, her heart breaking as she kissed his forehead. "Goodbye, my sweet boy. Be kind, and find your strength when you need it most." The pod hissed as it activated, its engines roaring to life.

She turned to Karia, her tears blurring her vision. Unlike Kakarot, who seemed so innocent and unassuming, Karia radiated a quiet intensity even as an infant. Gine’s hand lingered on the pod’s edge. "You’re different, my little star. I hope the universe is ready for you."

As Bardock launched Kakarot’s pod toward Earth, Karia’s pod was programmed to follow a similar trajectory. But just as the second pod lifted off, a sudden burst of meteors streaked across the sky. One fiery rock collided with Karia’s pod, sending it spiralling off course.

"No!" Gine screamed, reaching out as if she could pull the pod back.

Bardock grabbed her arm, his expression grim. "There’s nothing we can do now. We have to hope the pod’s systems will correct its course."

But deep down, Bardock knew the truth. Karia’s pod was lost to the vast unknown of space
