Karia had spent the morning walking around Beerus's palace, her mind swirling with everything that had happened in the past few months. She was deep into her thoughts, trying to ignore the discomfort of her rapidly growing belly. She couldn't help but feel overwhelmed as the day of her labour approached. Despite being surrounded by powerful beings like Beerus and Whis, she couldn't shake the feeling of uncertainty. The weight of the situation pressed down on her-after all, she wasn't just carrying one baby... she was carrying three.
Her thoughts were interrupted as she found herself in the grand garden, the vibrant flowers a stark contrast to the heaviness she felt. The sky was clear, and there was a soft breeze, but it did little to calm her nerves. She wasn't sure if she was ready for what was coming next. Her body had been acting differently, and for the past few days, she'd felt more intense movements than before.
As she walked deeper into the garden, she came across Whis, who was humming a tune while twirling his staff. His calm demeanour instantly had a soothing effect on her, though she still felt the unease in her gut.
"Ah, Karia," Whis greeted, noticing her thoughtful expression. "Taking a stroll to clear your mind?"
Karia gave a small smile. "Something like that. Just trying to breathe. It feels like everything is... closing in on me." She glanced down at her belly. "It's like there's more going on in here than I can handle."
Whis nodded knowingly. "You're almost there. The babies are eager to meet the world."
Karia let out a sigh. "It's not just that. I can't shake the feeling that... I'm carrying more than I thought. The movements are so intense."
This gave her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, Karia. You're doing well. But I think it's time to check on you. Beerus would like to see how things are progressing."
Karia gave him a sideways glance. "Beerus? That's a surprise. I didn't think he'd be so... interested in the process."
Whis chuckled softly. "You'd be surprised. Let's go find him. He might not show it, but he's curious about the little ones."
Karia shrugged but followed Whis as they made their way back into the palace.
---
Beerus was lounging in his usual spot, lazily resting on a cushion, as if the universe wasn't about to change right in front of him. When he noticed Karia and Whis entering the room, he sat up, his expression shifting slightly.
"So, what's this I hear about you having those babies soon?" Beerus asked, still trying to act nonchalant.
Karia felt a wave of nerves rise within her, but she gave him a tight smile. "Yeah, I think it's time."
Before Beerus could respond, Karia winced, her hand instinctively going to her stomach. A sharp pain surged through her, causing her to gasp. Her breathing became shallow, and she stumbled slightly.
Beerus immediately stood, his calm façade slipping. "Is something wrong? Whis?"
This raised an eyebrow. "It seems Karia is going into labour, Lord Beerus. It's time."
Beerus's eyes widened in shock. "Now? Just like that?"
Karia gritted her teeth as the pressure in her abdomen built. "Yes... it's time," she managed to say between breaths.
Which swiftly moved to Karia's side, steadying her. "Take it easy, Karia. Everything will be fine. You've got this."
Beerus paced back and forth, looking completely out of his element. "I... I didn't think this would happen so suddenly!"
Karia looked at him with an exhausted smile. "You're not the only one." She took a deep breath, trying to focus as the pain increased.
"I don't know why I'm even worried," Beerus muttered, "but... three babies? This is... unexpected." He frowned. "I'll need time to process this."
Before anyone could say anything else, Karia let out a sharp cry as another contraction hit. Which immediately went to work, guiding her through the labour.
---
The room was quiet except for Karia's steady breathing as Whis helped her with each passing contraction. Despite her pain, Karia kept her focus, each breath reminding her of the task at hand. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the first cry broke the silence, and Whis gently placed a baby in Karia's arms.
"It's a boy," Whis said, his tone calm, though his eyes held a twinkle of amusement.
Karia looked down at the small baby in her arms. His hair was dark and spiky, just like Broly's. She smiled softly. "He looks just like him."
Before Karia could fully process the first baby in her arms, another cry echoed through the room. Which moved swiftly, bringing the second baby into Karia's arms.
"He looks just like the first," Whis remarked with a grin. Karia looked down and indeed saw that the second baby had the same spiky hair and features.
Before she could catch her breath, the third baby cried out, and Whis moved to bring him to her as well. Karia couldn't help but laugh through her exhaustion as she held all three in her arms.
"Well, well, well," Beerus said, standing by with his arms crossed, trying to mask his shock. "I guess I wasn't expecting triplets. Looks like they do take after Broly."
Karia laughed weakly, still cradling the three boys. "Yeah, I guess so. They're dis sons." She looked at them with awe, her heart swelling with love for these three tiny beings.
Beerus's expression softened for just a moment. "They're... beautiful," he said quietly. "I... I didn't expect this, but it looks like I'm going to be a grandfather."
Karia chuckled softly. "Yeah, I think you're going to have a lot to get used to, Lord Beerus."
Beerus let out a sigh, though there was a rare smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "I'm going to need a lot of time to process this. But... I guess congratulations are in order."
Whis laughed softly. "Congratulations, Karia. You've done well. These little ones are certainly going to bring a lot of joy to the palace."
Karia smiled, holding her sons close. "Thank you, Whis."
As Karia sat there, holding her three sons, it was hard for her to imagine what would come next. But one thing was clear-her life had changed in ways she never expected. These three little boys, with their striking resemblance to Broly, were her future. And though things hadn't gone as planned, Karia couldn't help but feel a deep sense of love and happiness fill her heart.
