A/N: I'm hopeful to finish this fic this year and planned 10 or so more chapters... So! JenLisa Coachella. Jisoo filming. Number one girl. 🙂↕️**********
"Next question, Miss Manoban." Roseanne giggled when Lisa groaned at the formality. "Tell us the story behind The Cub." The two of them were at 'the matter with human beans' kitchen, working on a crème brûlée-flavored drink to beat the competition across the street.
After dropping Sangmoon and Winter off at Le Cordon Bleu, Lisa drove to her restaurant to ask—more like force—Jisoo to deliver some sweet goods to Jennie without taking no for an answer, saying she and Roseanne were going to be busy that day to work on some coffee and then go to the hospital after. Jisoo scolded her about her priorities because The Cub's menu had been catching flies, rotting in Lisa's head without any proper and actual execution.
Moonbyul seconded the sentiment, bragging that she finished the drinks menu before the deadline and was confident she made enough options to match whatever the final menu would be. "Dawg, you only need to fucking drink them to taste and tell me which ones we put on the menu. When can we do that?" At the same time, Hyunjin reprimanded the two to cut Lisa some slack, especially after last Sunday's fuss.
Lisa came up with the practical excuse that their kitchen had only been set up fully yesterday and dared her friends—and herself—that she would kiss Jisoo's ass and feet if she, Mingyu, and Hyunjin would not finalize the menu tomorrow. Hyunjin had to clarify, "Uh, head chef, if we fail to meet that, you're the only one kissing this idiot's ass and feet, right?"
"This fucker will take one for the team, my Jinnie boi. Hahahaha! Can't wait to get my kisses, playboy!" Jisoo guffawed while hitting her bum, and received a glare from Lisa.
"Fuck you, Jis!" Lisa exclaimed.
"Damn you, asshole!" Since Jisoo had been cranky since she and Jennie stopped being friends—along with the struggle to ignore Jennie's texts—she took Lisa's usual cursing as too personal. She was in a foul mood then, refusing to take any sass from her three friends who started teasing her about Jennie and the drunken kiss that ruined everything.
"Worse than popping your cherry," Hyunjin muttered under his breath, earning a hard nudge from Lisa. "Oughf?!"
Lisa did some save, saying, "That's safer than losing your virginity to the... wrong girl." She swallowed, feeling absolutely wrong to be saying that.
And Jisoo picked the lack of credibility there. "That's rich coming from you, player!"
Moonbyul furrowed her eyebrows. "Hey!"
Hyunjin further pushed Jisoo's buttons with, "Hey! Straights are the root of all evil for us gays. Look at you being down in the dumps right now, Jisoo! Straights are bad news to our hearts. We told you it's risky you're no longer frisky!"
"Gotta move back to our zone, dawg," Moonbyul said, followed by a sympathetic look at Jisoo.
Lisa was pretty chill about it, gesturing at the paper bag of pastries she handed Jisoo who did not even flinch with any protests as if she stopped functioning for a moment. "Don't beat your ass up that hard. Just bring these pastries to her. Might lighten up your mood when you see her and realize that both of you messed up your friendship." Damn. She did not recognize who spoke, and even her friends were dumbfounded for a second there.
"No," Jisoo said doggedly, crossing her arms over her chest and pursing her lips. "Absolute fuckery, that'd be."
"We'll go the hard way, then." Lisa exchanged looks with Moonbyul and Hyunjin who easily got what she meant.
