A/N: Congrats, Lisa! Very proud of you, rockstar!

Also, thanks for being patient. I'm running two ongoing fics now, so my updates take longer than before. But I end up writing longer chapters—hope that's fun for you lol. I will be away for two weeks, so might not be able to write another chapter before I fly out. I will be back! 🙂‍↕️

**********

After they had wrapped up a fulfilling afternoon of volunteer work at the local animal shelter, Alice, Roseanne, and Lisa walked to the parking lot. Alice invited Lisa to join her and Roseanne for dinner and meet up with her boyfriend Jason too.

"Only if you're not busy!" Roseanne smiled tentatively at Lisa.

"Defo! No pressure!" Alice agreed, beaming amicably at Lisa and ignoring Roseanne's telling looks—with a hint of a warning and a threat when she read through her sister's invitation, I'll kill you!

Lisa weaved a hand through her hair and quietly answered, "I—I'm free." It surprised Roseanne that she would join them, and it was obvious in the blonde's careful gaze, so she offered her a reassuring smile.

Returning the smile, Roseanne was actually more surprised with herself for feeling happy that Lisa said yes because: one, she could tentatively escape Alice's inquisitions, and two, she would not have to wait a couple of hours to be with Lisa again.

"Cool!" Alice threw a snarky glance at Roseanne who was, for a moment, looking like a puppy at Lisa. "Do you fancy eating anything, Lisa? Uh, I don't know what chefs would have as a standard for great food?"

Roseanne let out a groan. "Please don't ask her. She may be great at prepping food but when it comes to eating them... the complete opposite. She has the most sophisticated palate." She pouted in Lisa's direction and continued, "Honey Gold cereals and kiddie milk... or Pop-Tarts for dinner."

Rolling her eyes, trying to hide a smile, Lisa defended, "It's called 'balanced diet,' Chef Roseanne Park. Besides, I might whip up some... sweets? Lately, I've been eating quite well, actually, since you've been nagging me about—Fuck!"

Roseanne jabbed Lisa's arm without hesitation. That was not how she wanted Lisa to be useful that night. She was supposed to be the buffer between her and Alice! Saying those jokes would only give Alice more spicy questions and now her tomato face would not save her. Avoiding what she would find on Alice's face, she turned her face to the side as if looking at something. "Maybe we'll find something nearby... Oh, there's CU there!" She pointed across the street. "Nothing says 'gourmet' like cereals, with, maybe a nice side of potato chips?"

Alice snickered, struggling not to speak her honest thoughts. This time, it was Lisa tickling Roseanne's underarms, and her sister shoved Lisa's hand, shooting Lisa a threatening look. "Hmm... Your 'gourmet' suggestions sound riveting! I'll pass... unless you guys can bowl me over with something amazing like popcorn. This romcom is appetizing." When the two jerked their heads in her direction but failed to maintain eye contact with her, she snorted.

Roseanne released a huff, covering her stomach when it growled. She pouted and met Lisa's teasing look.

Lisa chuckled, tugging Roseanne's wrist away from her stomach, and said, "Okay, let's be serious now. Someone's roaring in there. Uh," she turned to Alice with a brief look, still feeling timid since Alice knew something was up with her and Roseanne. "Anything you're craving, Alice?"
