"Pinch me, beau?" The dark-haired, tan-skinned, cat-eyed Jennie Kim stretched out her arm toward the woman to her right, pulling the sleeves of her coal-colored Pleasing crewneck up."Hey! Are you— Oh my god, there you are again with your unpleasantries." The blonde seated to Jennie's left, Roseanne Park, said when she realized what her friends were doing. She threw her hands in the air and sank a little into the couch, giving a subtle swing of her head from left to right.
The pinch was a little too hard and Jennie yelped, "Bitch, what the fuck—It's real! It's real," she caressed the part that was squeezed and blew on it a little sobbingly. "This isn't a nightmare, but now I wish it were because that pinch surely damaged my—whatever the deepest dermis is called!" Releasing a convulsive gasp, she kicked the chair of her assailant with both feet.
Unaffected by the violent reaction she received from Jennie, the brunette, Yerim Kim, smirked and took a sip of her iced matcha latte, stirring it with the bamboo straw after.
"Hypodermis, dear," the blonde guy sporting a pair of hot pink training shorts and a hooded polyester jacket enunciated.
"Whatever, Felix hypo-nasty Lee," Jennie uttered, reaching for her cup of orange-fused cappuccino.
Felix looked heavenward with his arms stretched in the same direction. "This," he said meditatively, "is hyponasty. And this," he faintly released a breathy, "aaahhhh," followed with, "is the real life. Not the notional idea of it. We just did yoga so let's not allow ourselves to be consumed with any emotional stresses that's going to give us wrinkles in a day."
Yeri tugged Felix's arm back down and leaned toward him, speaking in a sultry voice, "Tickle me."
Staring at Yeri macabrely, Felix reached for a tissue from the teal vintage, speaker-looking tissue box and abandoned his meditative state. "Yuck! Don't use that voice on me, KY!"
"Don't want to be here a second longer, stuck in a world where Rosie's dumb. Wake me up from this real universe right now," Yeri said, using a demanding tone.
"I hate you!" Roseanne said it hurt, she made a pouty frown after, her lower lip overlapping with the upper lip.
"That's a pity, so let me tickle you ungrudgingly, dear." Felix placed one hand on his chest and bowed toward Yeri. After shaking the tissue off in the air like a magician, he placed the lightweight paper over his middle finger and without much ado, poked that finger inside Yeri's nostril to tickle.
"Thundercunt!" Yeri swatted Felix's finger away from her face, shooting him an unforgiving glare. "Do not! Ever! Finger fuck my nose!"
"Thanks for the biggest compliment, dear!" Felix laughed out loud, pounding the table with one hand while his other hand crumpled the tissue paper and threw it at Jennie's face.
"Fuck you! But love you for that move, babe," Jennie said, haughty about getting her revenge against Yeri through Felix's childish poke.
"Phew. Gayboy-advanced move," Roseanne said under her breath, shaking her head.
On the second floor of 'The matter with human beans' café, the four were hanging out, seated at their regular table every brunch time—the one at the corner by the edge of the balcony. They just got there half an hour ago after going to the same yoga class in Felix's new yoga studio located two blocks away from the café and had been pressing Roseanne about her current relationship status.
The four of them had been friends since they were kids because their dads became close-knit university friends from the same book club and years later, became business partners and advisors of each other. The Parks owned a private hospital and law firm. Roseanne's mom used to be the President of the Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and had been elected recently to be part of the Board while her dad and Felix's dad were Managing Partners of the Park-Lee law firm. Felix's mom was a housewife for a long time and turned her love for shopping into a business, they now owned several retail stores and other side businesses like clubs and gyms. The Lees had always been famous for owning high-end bars and opening the first LGBTQ+-friendly bars in the country since the year 2000. Felix would always say they knew he was gay before he was even born. The Kims, Jennie's parents, owned a media conglomerate while Yeri's parents took ownership and partnerships with several three to five-star hotels all over the country after her grandfather passed a decade ago.
