Shinobu POV

It was just another boring day. After that mission with tomioka yesterday, it was pretty quiet at the Butterfly Mansion. No urgent meetings or anything, just the same stuff.

Well, i guess you could say it was a relief. I mean, a normal person would, right? So, why don't i think the same way? Nevermind.

That mission, with tomioka-san. He was acting very suspiciously, like, he was acting VERY strange. I mean, he kept looking at me as if I was ill? He was the ill one, not me!

I guess i was just more annoyed yesterday, and accidentally let my emotions slip. It was no big deal though! Im not immature.. right?

However, a knock was heard on my door. "Kocho-sama?" A faint voice was heard behind it. It was one of the kakushi. I pushed my anger away and walked over to the door, smiling.

"Ah! Hello (REDACTED)-san!" I said, politely as i bowed. I could see blush appear on her face as she waved her hands around, "Ah, please dont bow in presence of me, kocho-sama!" She said, flustered. I have to admit, i giggled at the sight.

She bowed before gaining her composure back. "Ah, well, the Water Hashira, Tomioka Giyuu had requested me to give this to you. He also told me that you should get back to him as soon as possible, if that is okay!" She said politely as she bowed, still flustered.

Tomioka? The water pillar? Him? Why would him of all people send me such a letter? Is he alright? Perhaps i should go, maybe to check up on his health. Yes. It would be for the better. For him.

"Thank you very much, (REDACTED)-san! I will get back to him as soon as possible. Have a good day dear." I stated, smiling and bowing as she left.

But seriously, why did he decide to finally write me a letter? After all these months of me sending him letters of his daily check-ups and such & such, he decides to finally reply, and his reply is for me to meet him?

This is all so sudden i can barely process it. Wait. If he sent me this letter, he must be waiting! I should go! I dont want to make him wait! Wouldnt that be very unprofessional of me?

I walked up to the tall fountain that stood in the middle, just to see a tall figure stood there, completely unfazed. Wow, so much for a first impression of the day!

"Well, hello tomioka-san!~" i said, poking him on his arm as he flinched at the action, soon staring into my eyes.

He sighed as he then replied, "Hello kocho. You got my letter?" He asked. He's very talkative today, i wonder why?! Hmm. I should ask him about his health!

"Yes, i did tomioka-san! And i was wondering-" i was cut off by his sudden speech, "Well, im sorry if i awoke you but i wanted to go somewhere with you today." He spoke. How dare he interrupt me. Calm down. I took a deep breath as i stared back up at him.

I didnt even notice how shiny his skin was in the sunlight, but it was beautiful. Those ocean blue eyes that looked like an exact reflection of the sea. His title really did match him. The Water Pillar. Tomioka Giyuu.

"Kocho?" He said, waving his hand in my face. Ah! I must have zoned out, what was i even thinking of? Oh. I know. "Ah, my apologies, tomioka-san!" I said, pushing his hand back down to his side as i soon held both of mine together.

"And of course, id love to go with you. It's a good opportunity to bond and to learn more about you, right tomioka-san?" I said. I mean, i think that was the most genuine thing ive said this morning behind that smile that protected the anger that hid within me.

"Yeah. It is, i guess." He replied, looking away. He looked obviously flustered, which i giggled at the sighting slightly before i demanded we got going.

We soon arrived on a mountain. There laid a little rug below us. It looked hand-knitted. Did tomioka do this? Wow. Hes attractive and talented, what can this man not do? Wait. Why am i thinking such vulgar and inappropriate things?! I shook my head in reply to try and erase these thoughts, however this caught tomioka's attention.

"Are you alright, kocho?" He asked me as he shot me a concerned look. How ironic, i should be asking YOU that, tomioka. "Ah, im fine tomioka-san! Thank you for your concern, however there was just a fly in my way, so i shook it away." I said, obviously lying. Tomioka was very sharp though, after constant observation of him, i noticed that at least.

"Well, i wanted to talk about our mission yesterday, kocho." Tomioka said firmly, changing his tone. What does he mean by that? "Ah, really? What for?" I replied, obviously concerned.

"Well, you were acting quite off yesterday, so i was just wondering if everything was alright." He stated, intently looking into my eyes. What? Nothing was wrong with me at all! But. Why was he concerned for me? Gosh. These feelings again. Well, i do think i am unwell. I have been feeling these weird things around tomioka. What is he doing to me?

"Kocho? Are you alright? You have also been zoning out a lot. Im here if you want to talk." He said firmly as he touched my shoulder. A whole wave of emotions rushed past me, circling and crawling in my skin, trying to fight against my blood. If there was any more of that liquid in my system. But. What was he doing? Why is he being so strange? All of this sudden contact. Is he trying to do something? Is he trying to tell me something? I dont understand this man at all.

"Ah, im fine tomioka-san! But what is with this sudden contact?" I said, trying to hide the fact my cheeks were boiling hot right now. I held his hands and removed them politely as his expression changed. Mesmerised id describe it. He seemed completely fazed by something. Was it me?

"Sorry." He mumbled in an embarrassed manner as he brushed the back of his neck with his hand. He looked so cute when he was embarrassed. Wait. No. No he doesnt. Why am i thinking such things again?! Maybe there is something actually wrong with me.

Maybe he is right. Maybe i am ill. But. What is all of this sudden contact? Why is he sending me all of these signals? Is this his way of socialising? If it is, it is a cute attempt, I'll admit.

But it seems like hes trying to make the first move. But, for what exactly?

What is he doing to me?
