Tomioka POV
It's been 3 years since the battle ended. And I suppose life isn't as bad as before. The battle really was useful—everyone was happier now and could finally live in peace.
Bloodshed wouldn't be normal everyday, and you didn't have to worry if a demon was going to capture you on your way home anymore.
I guess it really was worth it, wasn't it? I can pass on peacefully without the guilt of having to avenge a loved one—or my death not helping others.
I was free. I was free from the trauma. I didn't have to fight demons everyday, I didn't have to risk my life everyday, just peace.
There aren't any of the former hashiras around anymore, it's just me, Sanemi and Tengen. We don't meet up often but when we do we cherish it by having tea or visiting our former comrades' graves.
I hope they found peace, and I hope I can find peace too. I hope A Specific Butterfly has found peace as well.
I hope I meet you in another life, Shinobu Kocho. I hope we'll find happiness together again.
