I ran my hands through my wavy hair, preparing to go take a shower again. Apparently, we are going to a dinner party and I'm supposed to meet his brother, but he didn't tell me what I should act as.
I walked into the shower and scrubbed my body of all the sweat. We went from watching movies to making my hair, and my nails, getting a dress for tonight's dinner and making sure I didn't look like the sold slave that I am.
" Wow, you look like an angel," he said, leaning on the door.
" I need help with my zipper," I shrugged.
He walked over to me and helped with it. He pulled out a piece of jewelry and placed it around my neck.
" Aww… this is so cute," I said, twirling the diamond pendant in my hands.
" That's a tracker, In case you try to run away" he whispered and the smile on my face disappeared.
" Jerk" I huffed, picking up my purse.
My dress is Golden, has fallen straps, and has kind of a high slit. I'm wearing a sequin platform black heels to march and a black purse. I'm not going to lie, I have never looked this good.
Joseph is dressed in a very fancy black suit and he looked so damn fucking good. I looked like someone he could take to one of those dinners with very rich people but I didn't feel like that.
" You are gorgeous, that's enough looking in the mirror," he said before dragging me out of the room.
The ride was quiet, and I was a bit moody. I knew why but I didn't want to. We finally arrived somewhere I didn't know and I just walked with Joseph into the building. A few steps into the hall and we held hands, well he held mine.
" Are you nervous?" he asked and I got the message, he was the nervous one.
" You haven't seen your brother in two years, it's not so much, relax," I said, stroking his arm as he picked drinks for us both. " Thank you," I said, grabbing the drink from him.
" We could just leave, and pretend like we were never here," he said as we approached our table.
" You should have a smooth relationship with your brother so that your kids can have cousins that they actually know," I said, demonstrating by tapping the table with my fingers as we took our seats.
" We are still talking about kids?" He whined and I laughed.
" Just relax ok? You'd realize it's not as hard… Hamba kahle" I said, placing my hand over his. " It means to be at peace" I laughed after seeing his facial expression to me using my language.
"Ohh ok there he is," he said and Immediately switched to being Joseph Smith.
" Hey, " his brother said as he approached Joseph. I don't if that's how boys do or because they aren't specifically on good terms but what?
" Hey," Joseph replied and they hugged, they kept patting each other's back while I had the time to stand and prepare a speech in my head.
" Hi," I said, taking his stretched-out hands. I could feel the emotions linger on, they do miss each other, and men just have a way of making that not so obvious.
" What's your name?" the young man who had a major resemblance to Joseph asked.
"Zola Jacobs" I replied, my hand still in his. I didn't expect Joseph's brother to be ugly and he definitely broke my standards.
" You are…? " He said, switching glances at me and Joseph probably for a reasonable tag for our relationship.
" Uhmm…. She's…she's hmm..my friend" Joseph managed to say and I only smiled.
" Friend, right?" he said, releasing my hand.
Then a young lady with brown wavy hair walked towards us in her beautiful gown.
" Joseph, Zola… this is Lara, my girlfriend" he introduced her with so much pride, wrapping his right arm around her waist. She's pretty so why not, besides she looks like one of those girls who have very rich parents.
" Joseph, James told me a lot about you," she said, hugging my man.
Delulu.
" Hi," I replied as we air-kissed.
The men walked in front of us and we walked slowly behind them, giving them space to talk and I'm sure Lara and I understood that.
" So, who are you, Joseph?" She asked, crossing her arms.
" He is my friend, " I replied, nervously.
" Your friend in?" She said unbelievably. Why is it so hard to believe though?
" Yeah," I nodded.
" Where do you live?" She asked.
" Well, for now, we stay together…. Till I get a place here" I replied, hoping she wouldn't question me any further.
"I think we can help them," she said and we paused.
" Help them how?" I asked, scanning the hall. They have disappeared.
" Help them get back together," she said.
" Ohh yeah.. I thought of that too but how?" I asked.
" Can I get your number? We'd talk about this very well later" she said. Busted.
" Actually I left my phone at home but if you have a card or maybe you can write out your number, I'll text you as soon as I get home" I explained and she just stared at me, it's okay if she thinks I'm weird because I think I'm weird.
" Sure" she replied shortly, taking out a card from her purse and I took it.
" Zola, we need to leave right now" Joseph appeared and whispered into my ears, grabbing my hand and dragging me out of the hall without letting me say my goodbyes to Lara.
I looked back and saw James standing next to Lara and they were having a discussion, worry written all over their faces. Something is wrong.
" Joseph? Joseph? What's wrong please?" I asked as we approached the car.
" That bastard, he tricked me!" He yelled as we got into the car.
" What… what did he do?" I asked.
" He told me his parents weren't going to be there but they were," he said, running his hands through his hair nervously.
" You mean your parents?" I said. " Seph you need to relax and stop overreacting," I said, stroking his arm.
" Don't fucking tell me what to do …you.." he paused, withholding his statement.
" Low life whore… that doesn't deserve me here with you… right?" I asked, opening the car door. " I would prefer to sit in the back seat sir," I said.
" Hey hey, stop," he said in a calm voice, pulling me back into the car. I let the door close after me. " I'm sorry and I swear that was nothing close to what I wanted to say".
" I Know, that wouldn't usually get to me but I guess it's because it's my time of the month" I winced, sobbing like a child.
" Hmmn, your time of the month? You deserve chocolates," he said, pulling me into his lap.
I eased myself onto his lap as our lips finally settled in a deep passionate kiss and pleasure plus pain mixed down there. His tongue went deep into my mouth and my fingers found their way into his soft hair as his hands ran through my waist down to my ass.
