Enora's POV

The past two weeks have been hell. I lost everyone I loved in school except Lili, Annie, and Janae who were my only supporters. Crystal for some reason ditched me for Nadia's crew, insulted me, and poured a bowl of hot sauce on me in the hallway. Something tells me it's all a sick joke but it's been so long.

Jemimah has been getting a lot of support, especially from the football team since she stole my boyfriend Philp the captain of the team, and has Nadia who is dating Nael, the Quarterback as her running mate. Crystal was supposed to be my running mate but she ditched me. I wanted Lili to take her place but for some reason, she felt insulted and Jealous. I get it, Crystal has been closer to me than even my cousin.

Janae offered to be my running mate. We tried but the whole school was behind Jemimah and Nadia. I was moving slowly to the main auditorium where the votes were getting ready to be counted. The day is almost over and it's the last activity.

Deep down I knew I didn't have a chance but there was still a flicker of hope. I'm more embarrassed because The electoral body is the school’s VIP ( Very Important Partners), my parents, Jullian's parents, Alfred, Nadia's parents, The Lord's, Principal Ripley, Mrs. Williams, and some other parents.

I walked into the dimly lit auditorium and sat in between Janae and Lili. There was so much light concentrated on the stage.

“Sweetheart, I think you should be sitting next to the other Candidates,” Lili reminded me, giving my hand a reassuring squeeze.

I disagreed, I didn't want to go. I was scared and my stomach was churning but then it was announced that I might need to sit with the rest.

I walked down the few steps and sat in the last empty candidate's chair. The counting was going on so fast, I couldn't help but bite on my nails nervously.

“Fat baby Smith,” Jemimah leaned towards me, a sinister grin appearing on her face. “Accept defeat and walk away,” She added but I Ignored her.

What's fat baby Smith? I'm not fat.

A bell rang out of nowhere, indicating that the counting was over. I tried to look at my mom but she broke her gaze away almost immediately and smiled at my dad. A fake smile.

Now I had lost all hope.

“I'm glad to announce to the wonderful students of Nobel Crest High that your new Student body president and Vice is…”

The drum rolled, and Lili was now standing next to me, messaging my tense left shoulder softly. I know the winner, why was I still scared?

It's over.

“.... Jemimah Tobias Lord and Nadia Jones,” Principal Ripley announced.

I buried my head in my palms, I wasn't crying, I was just glad that's was over. The nightmare was over, the crowd was celebrating, and a few members of the football team ran toward the front chanting and lifting Jemimah and Nadia. Wow.

Suddenly, everyone’s phone began to beep almost at the same time, and roars of laughter one after the other ran through the large hall. I looked up at Lili who quickly put away her phone.

“Lili, what's the problem?” The students in front were pointing at me and laughing.

I was visibly shaking. Lili wasn't willing to tell me but I wanted to reach my bag and check my phone myself. But a few feet away from my seat, Janae stopped me and gave her phone to me.

The water swelled up in my eyes at what I saw. Adrenaline ran swiftly across my body and I began to vibrate. It was a baby picture of me, I was really fat, so fat that my neck and wrists were not visible. Most annoyingly I had my back turned and I wasn't in diapers so everyone now has a picture of my bare baby ass, a picture only…

“Nael,” I groaned, storming towards the auditorium door.

“Enora,” my parents called after me but I was too angry to even look them in the eye.

I clenched my fists so hard my nails were tearing into my skin. I ran towards the hallway, hearing my parents call after me. Multiple feet stomped into the hallways as well which meant every student was coming after me.

I caught Nael laughing at his phone with some other football kid. I dashed towards him and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, pulling him towards myself. I threw a punch into his face, letting him fall to the ground. I grabbed him up and punched him a few times more before Philp pulled me away from him. I didn't hesitate to hit Philp as well because I was sure he was a part of this.

By the time I turned around, I was panting heavily and couldn't stop the tears threatening to fall into my eyes.

“Come here, Baby,” were the words that got me sobbing like a child from my father. I ran towards him like a baby and wrapped my arms around his neck. He pulled me close to his warm body, compared to how cold I was at the moment.

I wrapped my legs around his torso and sobbed like a child.

“It's okay, it's okay, Love. Daddy is here, it's ok,” he whispered, pecking my cheek severally.

I was still sobbing when I heard my mom call out to Nael, she pulled him by his shirt as well as slapped him across the face even though he had a bleeding nose and lip already.

“My baby has lived her life trying to protect your stupid ass all your life, having to live with the consequences of the actions that you made, she has loved you more than she loves herself, and as if not supporting her for the elections where not enough who had her pictures sent around??” My mother's voice was deadly, laced with something more dangerous than anger. Rage? Wrath?

I heard another loud slap.

“You make sure you don't come home tonight or else I'll have you beheaded,” Zola loves her son more than herself, she's just angry. “ Now give me the keys to your car,” she gritted.

I was still wrapped around my dad when we got outside, I closed my eyes to avoid the burning gaze of nosy students. I was so embarrassed, by the picture not losing anymore.

Lili brought my bag out while my dad was trying to calm both me and my mom down. My dad has suggested that I be taken home immediately. I looked at my dad as he made his way towards me again, my mom had left with Nael's car.

“I love you, baby,” my dad kissed me on the forehead. His suit was wet from my tears and a little mucus on the shoulder.

I drove my car home while my dad drove the car they came with.
