Enora's POV
“Meet, Enora Smith. She is going to take you around for the week,” Mr Ripley said but he didn't respond.
Nonverbal indeed.
“Enora, meet Jullian Barron Nyrold,” my heart skipped at the mention of Barron. I'm not even my mother, I shouldn't be haunted by her past and her wild sex life in the past.
Too scared to turn around, I simply nodded and grabbed my bag. It was the end of the day already, so I only have to worry about him tomorrow. My phone was buzzing with so many messages and I'm sure they were from my friends and Nael.
I stood and slowly turned around. I was met with the sight of a beautiful boy who had dark brown tousled hair and recommended glasses and dressed as the hottest nerd I have ever seen in his uniform.
God help me.
“Hi,” I spoke to him as soon as we were close enough.
Instead of responding, he simply stretched his hand out and I took it. It was soft and warm.
We walked out of school together just as Nael was driving away.
“You are late,” Nael yelled, stopping the car in front of me.
He refused to acknowledge Jullian, rolled the glass up and started moving the car.
“Nael, hey you! Nael don't you dare leave without me,” I yelled but he didn't stop.
I ran after the car seeing that he had no plans of stopping but he actually drove away.
“Nael fucking Smith,” I yelled and raised my middle finger at him. I was panting heavily from running after Nael then I noticed a tiny smile spread across Jullian’s face. It must have been funny seeing me run after my stupid twin and his Lambo.
How the hell am I supposed to get home now?
“Enora, the girls left already, I can drop you at home.” Crystal offered generously.
“Thank you, my love,” I smiled.
I looked over to Jullian and for some reason was still standing there.
“I'll see you at school tomorrow,” I awkwardly waved at him.
He simply nodded and I watched him walk towards a Bentley, he got into his car and drove off.
“Why aren't you driving your car?” Crystal asked as we climbed into her car.
“Nael’s stupid punishment is to drive me around for the week but he chose to leave me at school,” I gritted angrily.
I clicked my seatbelt and relaxed into Crystal’s silk Lexus sports car seat as we drove out of school. Her car was covered in glitter and pink stuff, it almost felt like a toy car. I won't blame her, my signature color is crimson red and almost everything I own is made in that color, i even had to get all my uniforms in the color red.
Crystal is Uncle Alfred's daughter, uncle Alfred worked with my dad for so many years that they are like brothers now. Apparently I'm going to have to live with the fucked up memory that my mom fucked him in her ridiculous story.
“So, about the new boy,” Crystal grinned sheepishly as we drove into our estate.
“He doesn't talk, Crystal, and I know nothing about him,” I immediately killed her hopes.
“Why? The other new boy talks and I heard that they are best friends,” she shrugged…
“Wow, they are best friends?” I didn't even get to see the other new boy. They are literally the talk of the whole school right now.
“What’s his name?” I asked Crystal.
“Who??”
“The other new boy,” I reiterated.
“Finn,” she blushed.
“You like him?” I rolled my eyes at her.
“No,” she said defensively as she stopped the car in front of my house.
“I hear you,” I decided to drop the conversation.
“Any idea why Philp wasn't at school today?” Crystal asked just as I was about to get out of the car.
I squeezed my face, feeling bad about not noticing my boyfriend and my brother's best friend’s absence at school.
“I have no idea, I'd text him now though.” I hid the fact that I forgot about him but I guess she knew because of how she scoffed.
Crystal lives three houses away so she decided to stop by and have dinner with us.
Just as she climbed out of her car, she called my attention to something.
“Enora, isn't that Jullian’s car?” She asked, pointing at a car driving into the house opposite ours.
“Oh shit,” I muttered and then ran into our house.
How do I tell my mom that her greatest fear lives a few feet away from us?
“Mom!” I called out to her as I walked into the living room. “ Mom,” I yelled again.
She appeared in the living room looking all gloomy and worried.
“Mom, you know right? You know that Barron Nyrold now lives in the house opposite ours,” I rubbed my temple and so did she.
“How does she know about Barron?” My dad walked into the living room and asked my mom.
“Joseph, now's not the time,” my mother sat and buried her face in her palms.
“Zola, now's not the time. How the hell did it take you twenty-one years to tell me that your ex-husband didn't fucking die,” my dad was livid and I understand why but it hurts to see him yell at my mom.
“Dad, please don't yell at mom,” I tried to calm the whole situation down.
My dad looked at me and his eyes melted. He pulled me into a hug and stroked my hair softly. After he pulled away, my mom was already crying her eyes out. Crystal was standing at a distance awkwardly, very much wondering what was going on and I could hear Nael yelling stupidly at some stupid game he was playing.
“Joseph, what are we going to do?” My mother had tears in her eyes.
Why was she so scared of Barron? What if he had moved on and forgotten about her? I mean it has been over twenty years. Or what if he doesn't even remember?
My dad threw a punch into the shelf next to him shattering the flow vases that were on it on the floor.
Just then, Alfred barged Into the living room simultaneously with Naell and my boyfriend Phillip who were playing games in the other living room. We made eye contact for a while but broke it off as soon as we noticed that Alfred had more bad news.
“Alfred, Barron lives next door,” my mother told him. He smoothly ran his hand through his hair and pulled off his suit Jacket.
Nobody said anything and we all just watched him pace around for a while.
“Tobias Lord just moved five fucking houses away from here,” He said and my mom and dad looked like they both were sentenced to death.
I remember that name, it appeared a few times in my mother's story.
“I'm convinced that they are here for us,” My mother broke down.
If they are all this worried, then there's more to the story my mother said.
“Dad, what's going on?” Crystal asked Alfred just as Nael and Philip were Confused.
“I think I need to leave,” Philip said and left.
Then we all sat down for story time.
