Enora's POV
“Good day students,” Mrs Alora went on and on about how she was disappointed in me for being in detention for the first time before asking us all to state the reason we were in detention and then submit our phones.
She began from the front.
“Mr Nyrold, do you mind going first?” Mrs Alora asked.
“Uhmm…” the nonverbal guy hummed for the first time. “I was not in class when I was supposed to and got into a fight with that asshole over there…” he pointed at Nael.
“Language Mr. Nyrold,” Alora scolded.
“.... Which is in fact Enora's fault for avoiding me all day and not taking me to my classes,” he concluded.
My stomach churned at hearing his sexy voice for the first time but my excitement disappeared after he accused me of a more serious crime.
She moved to the next person, Finn.
“I was trying to separate the fight,” Finn simply said and submitted his phone.
“By attempting to murder me?!” Nael yelled and got a cold look from Mrs Williams.
“Miss Jemimah Lord,” Mrs Alora said, approaching the grumpy twin.
“It's Jemimah Tobias Lord and I just got here, tell me why this Hobo was trying to pour paint on me?” Jemimah snapped, pointing at Annie
Mrs Williams raised an eyebrow at her which made her compose herself and continued.
“I drowned her in her own paint and we started fighting,” she concluded her statement. Crystal and I were managing our laughter.
“I'm sure Nadia put Annie up to it,” Crystal suggested. That's really not a suggestion, it's the truth. Nadia Is once again feeling threatened by the presence of Jemimah and Janae.
“Miss Annabelle,” Mrs Alora proceeded.
“Jemimah poured me paint for no reason,” she lied and submitted her phone.
“And you, Janae,”
“ I was only trying to separate the fight,” Janae giggled and submitted her phone.
I need to know why she was always sitting next to Jullian.
Now it's just Crystal and me.
“We were caught in the library when we were supposed to be in class,” I submitted both our phones.
“Now you are going to write a short story of one thousand words on how today should have been and how it went,” Mrs Alora said, handing out clean sheets.
I hate to write, this is one of the worst punishments ever. We all groaned disapprovingly but she ignored and left the class after telling us she'd be back in three hours. Leaving All seven of us unsupervised in the same room is ridiculous and somewhat dangerous.
How the hell did fate manage to bring us all together? Except Finn and Annie, the imposters.
“Are we all going to pretend we don't know each other?” Finn finally broke the long painful silence.
Jullian was trying to stop him from talking but it looked like he had made up his mind.
“I'm Finn Newton, Andrew Newton’s son,” he announced.
Crystal grabbed my hand and squeezed it, informing me that it could be Andrew from my mother's story.
“Andrew Newton as in your mother's name is Simone or Abena whichever,” Crystal asked.
“You are close but no, my father married someone else after divorcing Simone,” he informed us, a sinister grin playing around his face.
And the plot thickens.
My mother says Andrew helped Ama arrest my dad. Is there anyone in this room whose father my mother didn't fuck?
“Since we are talking about our parents, my mom is Ama George and my father is Noah George,”
Then I put two and two together, if Ama is the secret Agency that took down my dad, did fate bring Annie here as well because her mother is Ama George? She did say that her mother is a secret Agent who took down bad guys.
I presented my thesis to Crystal and Nael and they agreed with me.
“This means your parents all told you stories about our parents?” Nael questioned and they all hummed in agreement.
But why?
Definitely, something joins them all together.
“So, we are going to play a game of truth or dare,” Finn said. Nael and I raised an eyebrow at him at the same time.
Twin telepathy.
“.... And I'm the game Master,” Finn maintained his sinister grin.
“Why? Are you trying to be the Dark, perverted, narcissistic game Master just like your father?” Crystal dropped a bomb which shocked everyone.
“What did you say to me?” Finn's expression was immediately relieved and replaced with anger.
Nael burst into loud laughter just as Jullian was trying to calm Finn down.
“What? Why are you laughing? Didn't your mother fuck all our dads?” Nael was immediately tensed, he dashed towards Jullian who made the awful statement and threw a punch into his face.
For the first time, I was proud of Nael because no matter what might have happened, he wasn't supposed to say that shit. We were all caught up in the fight again when Mrs Alora came in and stopped it. She used the next hour lecturing us about our silly behaviors, especially because we ruined school property and broke chairs and tables.
Just before she was about to leave she dropped the most heartbreaking bomb.
“Yes! You all just earned yourselves four Saturday detentions,” she gritted. Nobody seemed shocked we were all still mad at each other.
Inherited parent beef.
“And you… Miss Smith. You get to bring food and water for everyone for four Saturdays as punishment for bailing on Jullian,” she said.
Could this get any worse?
Adrenaline was running through my veins just as I remembered Jullian's words.
“Ohh… and yes, you all bring your parents to school tomorrow,”
Ohh ohh, it did get worse.
Just as always.
As soon as Mrs Alora dismissed us and left. I picked up my bag and began storming out of the class angrily.
“ Relax, Princess Smith. Are you off to fuck as many men as possible just like your mom?” That was the height of it.
I paused in my steps and hurried back to him. I didn't realize my palm went across his face until everyone gasped.
“You fucking talk about my mother like that again and I'm going to kill you,” I gritted, pressing against his throat.
An evil smirk spread across his face but I shrugged it off and left.
