Chapter 26 Overextended

Orko loved to help his friends around the palace of Eternia. He also loved to help his friends from Trolla when they visited. Orko was a very helpful and kind person. Today he promised Dree Elle he would help her practice some musical scales now that her voice was completely healed and she could sing again. Little did he know he made other promises for that day.

"I am glad I can help you with your singing practice today," Orko said.

"Yes I am glad you can too," Dree Elle said. "I really am glad now I can sing again," she said.

"I will see you later," Orko said. Then he went to Man at arms lab where Damien and Andra were. "There is my book on magical charms I thought I left it in here," he said grabbing it.

"Hi Orko I hope you didn't forget," Andra said.

"Forget what?" Orko asked.

"You were going to help us test a new machine today that Damien and I came up with together, all of it's settings," Andra said.

"Oh yeah," Orko said. "When do I have to do it?" he asked.

"Today after lunch remember?" Damien said.

"Oh yeah," Orko said. He remembered he promised Dree Elle that they would practice musical scales after lunch day before he promised Damien and Andra, but he could say no to them and let them and Dree Elle down. "Of course, I will be ready for it," he said.

"Good see you then," Damien said.

Orko then ran into Adam on the way to his magic room. "I hope you remembered our fishing trip after lunch today Orko," Adam said.

"Oh yeah," Orko said. He almost forgot he promised Adam he would go fishing with him today after, he promised Damien and Andra to help them which was after he promised to help Dree Elle. He was in shock to say the least he made three promises for after lunch the same day. He could say no to any of them or let any of the down. "Of course wouldn't miss it," he said.

"Great see you then," Adam said. "Don't forget to bring your famous lemonade," he said.

"I won't," Orko said. Then Orko went into his magic room and placed his magic charm book up and found a book of spells. "Okay now, let's take care of this," he said. "I think I have a spell in here to help me with this problem so I can appear in more than one place at once," he said. "But it is only for teleportation when I feel I need to be there," he said. "I sure hope this works." he said. He began to recite the spell and made sure to look at the spell to make it stop which was admitting the truth yourself.

"There now I can handle this and spend time with all of my friends," Orko said.

After lunch Orko went to help Damien and Andra as they tested one aspect of the machine, and it worked. "Alright we did it for that test," Damien said.

"Now let's move on to the second one after some adjustments," Andra said.

"Hey look over there," Orko said as they adjusted part of the machine. Then he teleported to where Dree Elle was.

"Okay Dree Elle," Orko said. "let's help you practice those music scales," he said. He helped her with that. Then he teleported into the kitchen and got his famous lemonade and made it to the fishing hole where Adam was.

Orko was fishing with Adam and having some fun. Then teleported away to help Damien and Andra and still had the thermos of lemonade. "What is with the thermos?" Andra asked pointing.

"I uh," Orko said setting down. "I forgot I had it in my hat," he said making an excuse. Then after helping testing adjusting he didn't realize he had machine fluid on him when he made it back to Dree Elle.

"What happened to you?" Dree Elle asked.

"Nothing," Orko said.

Then a bit later he teleported back Adam. This was going on for a while. Then he accidently teleported into the throne room and all his friends he was helping today came up to him and were not happy and shouting. "I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY!" Orko shouted.

Everyone there looked at him. Randor, Marlena, Man at arms, Damien, Andra, Teela, Adam and Dree Elle.

"Damien, Andra, Dree Elle and Adam all of you I made plans with on the same day at the same time with, without realizing it," Orko said. "I didn't realize I did until I talked to all of you," he said. "Dree Elle you wanted me to help you practice musical scales since you voice is healed now, so you can sing, Damien and Andra you wanted my help testing an invention the two of you made together, and Adam we were going to go fishing," he said. "And I couldn't tell anyone of I had other plans, tell you no and let you down," he said.

"Sounds you over extended yourself," Man at arms said.

"You could've just talked to us," Andra said.

"Yes we could've worked something out," Damien said.

"Yes and we could've understood if you had other plans," Adam said.

"Yes if you just spoke up this could've been avoided," Dree Elle said.

Orko's teleport agitation glow was gone. "Looks like the spell I used to try to help with this problem broke, because I admitted the truth myself to you guys," Orko said. "For one to be free from the spell the one who had the spell cast on them must admit the truth themselves," he said. "Now I know that speaking up to my friends isn't easy, and knowing there are times when I can't do a favor for them although I want to help I must tell them," he said. "Because although I love all of my friends I know now I must choose which activity to do with which at a time," he said.

"We are just glad no one got hurt," Man at arms said. "Plus we are glad you care so much Orko," he said.

"Yes all of us are lucky to have a friend like you," Marlena said.

Orko felt so much better after that.

"Hi in today's story you saw Orko had a problem," Dree Elle said. "He made many plans for activities on the same day with different people without realizing or being able to tell his friends he had other plans, or found it hard to tell them no and found it hard not to let them down," she said. "Many of sometimes may find ourselves in a similar situation, when it does happen gather the people you promised to do those things with and talk them and you all can work something out," she said. "Because communication is keep to help in these problems and real friends are willing to help things work out so you won't have any problems, because they care about you as much as you care about them," she said. "Until later," she said.
