These are just things that you may be able to relate to or prevent in the future. I thought it would make an interesting/relatable read.
(I probably missed a ton.) ~M>This is literally one of the worst that I am too inattentive to stop doing...
Getting the wrong book- like in a series. Whether it's getting a book that's not in the right order or just reading it all wrong and having no clue what you're reading at all.>That time you brought your CD case somewhere but forgot your CD... If you still use CDs. It's very disappointing.
>Taking the jacket of a book off because it looks nicer but then, not wanting to ruin the cover... Or the jacket.
>When the bookmark slides into the pages and you panic when you can't find it.
>The whole OCD problem of organizing your bookshelf or storing your books in general.
(especially when all of the books are different sizes)>The struggles of what book to read/what music to read. (Or trying to do both) On the daily.
>Buying a book that's expensive but then finishing it super fast because it's such a good book that it's worth the money but you regret reading it fast. (Hopefully you'll read it more than once)
>Deciding whether or not to let someone borrow your book.
>Forgetting to use the washroom during a show on TV. (thankfully, there is Netflix etc. and the wonderful pause/play buttons)
>Trying to leave the book store. And just in general, trying to look through as many books as possible in the shortest amount of time and then actually deciding on something. What?
>Not knowing that two characters are better off as friends but shipping them anyway. It's not always a mistake but sometimes...
>Watching the movie before reading the book. Or assuming that there wasn't a book first. It happens. *gasp
>Judging a book by its cover. This also happens. No joke. It's obvious that some things are just more appealing no matter how hard you try not to do this.
>Feeling forced to read what's popular. You can read what you want to! Don't feel pressured because a book doesn't become popular unless someone decides to read it before others. Plus, popular doesn't mean good.
>Not looking at things. From time to time, you should actually look up from your book/screen or take a break from napping. Because there are a lot of things to look at in the world. I like to read when there's nothing else to do but I also like to look around.
>Reading because you feel like you should vs. reading because you feel like it/want to. Don't read if you think you haven't been reading enough or are falling behind. Then you may not enjoy it as much. Read when you feel like it.
>Spoilers. *cringe Enough said. Try to avoid these by not looking through the book before reading it and avoid online sources. Spoilers are very common.
Also, don't spoil things for others. Especially when asking what part others are at. Let them tell you the exact place before you give away a major plot reveal.>Staying up far too late and being exhausted. (as I write this. oops)
I believe in having that really good book that you just have to finish but as soon as your head hits the pillow, you'll fall asleep so just put the book down and everything will be fine if you finish it in the morning. Your body will thank you. It's hard to get out of a habit once it starts.>Eating. Food and books should be a great combination, right? Until you drop/spill something on your book or possibly screen. Use napkins, wipe your fingers and keep the food/drinks away at a distance. Be mindful of your surroundings.
I enjoyed writing this. Hope you liked this, feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments! :)
