Chapter 19

So late in the morning, Hazel was outside.
Hazel closed his eyes and chanted to lord frith
Hazel: lord frith. I know you have been looking after us well, and it's wrong to ask even more of you. But my friends and my people are in danger, so I would like to bargain with you.
Lord frith: there is not a day or night when a rabbit buck or doe does not offer his or her life for their kittens, or an honest captain of the OWSLA his life or his chief's. But there is not bargain. What is, is what must be.
Hazel: then what can I do? How can I save us?
Lord frith: to survive, save the people you love and for who can trust you.
Hazel: alright.
Fiver: Hazel. It's time.

The moment has arrived
The gang was about to leave but bigwig stopped them
Bigwig: wait!
Bigwig: where are you going?
Hazel didn't respond and starts running
Bigwig: Hey! HAZEL! Get your fat ass back here!
He didn't have a choice. He started to catch up with them.
Hazel: bigwig?
Bigwig: why the fuck are you leaving me Hazel? I'm supposed to keep in eye on you! And now you're running to get shit! Huh?! Are You're getting shit?!
Hazel: what! No!
Hazel: we have to get the dog from the nuthanger farm!
Bigwig: bitch! What are you talking about?! Haven't you seen how many of our people get killed by dogs?
Clover: but my friends are still in there.
Hazel: please bigwig. We need this! It was fiver's idea.
Bigwig: HAZEL BRAT!
Bigwig: I can't believe you're leaving me!
Hazel: we have to! Clovers friends are stuck in that farm and we need to do this without the cat noticing.
Bigwig: you come up with the most weirdest ideas that can kill us!
Bigwig: if you never made that deal with him, we could've been killed or worse, get our throats cut off!
Hazel: bigwig. You have to trust us! Fiver told us that to get the dog before it gets us.
Hazel: you can stay and protect the Warren for me.
Bigwig: okay...I'll try my best.
Hazel: no.
Hazel: you WILL do your best!
He patted his shoulder and he left with the gang.
Bigwig: good luck Hazel...
At the nuthanger farm, Hazel and the bucks even Hyzenthlay and clover sneakily went inside the farm.
The American bull dog was snoring loudly as they tip toed to unleash the leash.
Clover saw her friends: haystack, boxwood, groundsel, sliverweed, buckthorn, acorn, speedwell, laurel, flyarith, stonecrop, granite, shale, feldspar, the mouse and weasel.
The weasel: oh! My! God! It's clover!
Clover: quiet it down. Let's go.
Shale: thanks for the rescue clover. We really needed this
Clover: now we need to go.
Clover: Hazel!
Hazel: hmm?
Clover: meet you at the Warren.
Hazel: okay.
Later as she and her friends left
Haystack: where were you?
Clover: I was escaping.
Buckthorn: yeah! And you left us.
Clover: left us?
Laurel: why didn't you tell us? That you escaped?
Clover: listen guys, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do this.
Acorn: we understand that. But why?
Clover said nothing. Tears appeared in her eyes as she started crying as she fell to the grass
The mouse: oh clover.
Clover: this evil man! *hic* he's trying to kill us! *hic* we only got two does who survived!
Flyarith: two does?
Clover: *hic* the rest of the does died! And I'm worried that I'm next!
Grantie: listen clover. You did a great job out there. I wish we were there with you. But you're not alone on this. We got you. And we always will. That's what friendship really is.
Speedwell: I know that must be very difficult to go through but we'll be right here.
Feldspar: you know we were all in the same situation as you. We want to be set free.
Stone crop: and we did. All thanks to you.
Clover: thank you.
Groundsel: I knew woundwort would do this. Ive been through efrafra and I'm an efrafan person.
Clover: so. You're not going to kill me?
Groundsel: no.
Groundsel: I was fired back then.
Boxwood: then we all ended up here. Just like you.
Clover: well then...
She wiped her tears
Clover: let's do this shall we?
Meanwhile back at the farm, BlackBerry was minding his own business.
BlackBerry: say bluebell. What do you want to do in the future?
Bluebell: what do you mean?
BlackBerry: I had a feeling...we could be parents someday.
Bluebell: ?
BlackBerry: wouldn't that just be...a miracle?
Bluebell: of course it would. We would start a new life. Get does, build a home with holes, have kittens.
BlackBerry: yeah...
BlackBerry: and...dog.
Bluebell: hmm. Not that. It might kill us.
BlackBerry: no! DOG!
The American bull dog is now awake and is growling at them
BlackBerry and bluebell: AAAAH!
Dandelion: HAZEL! The dog's eyes are open!
Hazel: what?!
Hazel: oh no!
Hazel: everyone! Run!
Bluebell: yah! I don't wanna die! I don't wanna die!
BlackBerry: if you don't wanna die, then let's get out of here!
Captain Holly: everyone! Retreat!
The cat came back but this time, it attacked fiver
Hawkbit: fiver! Get out of here!
Fiver: I can't!
The cat scratched his face which caused blood to come out.
Fiver cried out in pain
Fiver: can you run?!
The cat hissed
Fiver: okay, it doesn't talk...
Hawkbit: Hazel! Fiver needs help!
Hazel: what do you mean?
Hawkbit: look!
Hawkbit: he's stuck with a cat!
Hazel: FIVER!
Hazel: let go of him will you!!
Fiver: Hazel...go.
Hazel: ...
Hazel began to tear up
Hazel: 🥺 no. No. There's no way I'm leaving you.
Fiver: I'll be fine...just...go...
Hazel began to leave with the gang
As they ran away from the farm and back tot he Warren, poor Hazel started to sob
Hawkbit: oh Hazel. I'm so sorry you have to leave him.
Hazel: I mean. He's grown up now. He can handle this on his own...
Hazel returned sobbing as the others tried to comfort him to this tragic moment
