"Well I bet you weren't expecting this." Z'iln stood with his back to the girl who spoke.
"Maybe not. I thought I had warned you of what would happen if you ever came back to recruit me. "
"Oh come on, baby. I know you miss me." She was using her charm-voice. Little did she know that he had developed a resistance to that trick of hers.
"No I really don't. You got me into a lot of trouble, Arlin. I don't care what you have to say. I am not joining that stupid villain society."
"But baby, we don't have someone like you." she reached for his hood. She was going to pull it down.
He grabbed her wrist and threw her against the wall. He pinned her there.
She leaned into him and he pulled away. He never had any real desire for a girl like her. She was cruel and a manipulator. He would never do anything to a girl unless she felt the same as he did.
"No," he growled. He pulled up his mask and walked out of the bar in which he sat.
"It's your loss," she screeched after him.
He walked away. Her drama was none of his. He didn't care about her. She never cared about him. She took advantage of him and his skills. Then she blamed him for it.
She was a narcissist like all the people from this world.
"Ical una meuwn trikkyn," He spoke into the night. His elvish accent really came out as he spoke the language of the ancients. His ancestors would be proud of him. When the one he called didn't come, he sang the lullaby that he once played with him to, "O mu aterlih kem siot atsodt. Mu ecel wirq xut yic jei. Tig seg chix segt hruh tel hebu ed shru. Xit yic mu attig will yic jei. Skopiw mu aterlih fratat, jei chil pii rauq."
Suddenly a low rumble sounded. It slowly got higher and louder. A snowy white dragon with brown and beige spots appeared. A silver flame emanated from its mouth.
"Hush, Dotterayu, Arlin is nearby. We can't let her discover you," he scolded.
The dragon stopped its fiery mouth and sat on its hind legs like a curious cat. Sometimes Z'iln couldn't get over how cat-like his dragon looked. At least how this universe's cats looked. He had spikes on his snout bridge and had vine-like whiskers that penetrated from behind his ears, which were short and pointy and they laid back most of the time across the back of his head. He had the most beautiful blue eyes. His eyes painted delicate pictures of flowers. His scales both reflected the moon and absorbed the sun. His wingspan was easily over half the height of one of the pubs. He was a relatively petite dragon. This made him very agile. He was a great getaway dragon. His blast when he passed through it allowed him to become invisible and that ability stretched to Z'iln. Because of their telepathic connection, he allowed him to use his abilities and he allowed Dotterayu to use his. Which weren't ever as cool as his.
Z'iln laughed to himself. He was giving him the dad-look. The one where he could tell that Rayu was criticising him for simply trying to get away from his evil ex.
"Rayu, come on! We have to get out of here," Z'iln began pushing his dragon trying to get Dotterayu to go.
"I know you liked her," Z'iln whined to his dragon, "But she was only getting close to me to find out where we are from, jokes on her though. That secret will be bound to even my dead corpse."
His dragon snickered.
"Yes I know, 'dead' and 'corpse' are basically the same thing. I added it for emphasis. Okay."
Dotterayu stopped and started snarling. He quickly nudged Z'iln to get on and they took off into the night. Z'iln only briefly looked back. He saw a girl. Her hair was as white as the moon and there was something familiar about her. Something that reminded him of home. He didn't stop though. He continued to fly. He had to get to a different island, away from the villains.
