third person pov— salina drake
Salina knew from the start that the Demon King would die today. The real challenge, however, was figuring out how to separate him from Meliodas.
Her silver eyes briefly flickered toward the unconscious Sins before narrowing in on the king.
Ultimately, that would be up to the Sins to figure out for now.
A humorless chuckle escaped him, and he ran a hand through his hair. "I've always known my children would be as relentless as I am," He sneered, "but I've never been more disappointed in my own flesh and blood than I am now." He brushed it off, though the anger in his voice was palpable. "And it's all because of you, Salina Drake. As it always has been." His gaze shifted cautiously toward her, fully aware of the power she wielded.
Salina's knuckles whitened as she tightened her grip on the hilt, the weight of the task ahead etched into her furrowed brow. Beside her, his son stood silent but firm, his emerald eyes burning with defiance, the same glow that once lit his father's path now a beacon of rebellion.
"You look tired, Father," Zeldris said finally, his voice cutting but level. He stepped closer to Salina's side, his sword drawn. "Perhaps it's time for someone else to carry your crown."
Salina's focus broke at the suggestion. Her eyes snapping to Zeldris out of shock.
The King's smirk faltered, replaced with a flash of something raw-anger, betrayal, or maybe fear. His gaze cut between the two of them, a lowly chuckle escaping him out of pure disbelief. "My son, you betray your entire bloodline for this?" He waved loosely at Salina in dismissal. "You think she knows what it costs to be a ruler? The sacrifices that must be taken?"
