I walked into the airport. Last time I was here I thought that I had put everything behind me. But I hadn't. After 2 months of law school I already started to miss Matt and Ian. I got my bags and continued to the door.
"Excuse me, are you renting a car?" asked a person.
"No. I don't drive." I was to scared to drive after what happened to Jemima.
"Okay."
I walked to outside into the Vancouver fog. I smiled. I missed tha so much. I got a taxi and he took me to the hotel I was staying at. I checked in and went to my room. I quickly texted June to let her know that I arrived safley.
A few weeks ago I asked Ian for his address because I might stop by some time. I got another taxi and went to his apartment. I passed the cemetary that Jemima was burried in. I tried so hard to hold back the tears. When I got to the apartment I wiped my eyes that were watering and went into the building. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
"Cassidy?!" he said. He jaw practically hit the floor.
"Hi. I missed you." I said hugging him.
"I missed you too. I thought you were at law school."
"I graduated."
"Congratulations! What have you been up to?" he asked.
"Oh you know, law school. That's probably it. What about you."
"Just band stuff."
"Have you dated at all since Jemima?" I asked. I had to ask him even though it wasn't really my business.
"No. What about you."
"Yeah. That reminds me. What's Matt's address? I want to visit him."
"It's the same. But you really should know-"
"Thank you. Bye Ian."
I ran out and got another taxi. I sat in the car and played with the locket that I was wearing. I got to his apartment and ran up the stairs to his room. I fixed my hair and knocked on the door.
"It's you?" he said.
"Yeah. I missed you. Like how I missed Ian and everyone else." I said hugging him.
"I missed you too but there is something I need to tell you." I sat down on his couch. "I have a girlfriend."
I stared at him for about a minute. "What?"
"I have a girlfriend. Her name is Julie. She is really nice. You two might get along." he told me.
"Oh, well I just wanted to visit some of my old friends here. I'm moving back as soon as I find a place to stay. I should probably go now." I stood up.
"No stay. I mean. We haven't seen each other in almost 4 years. We should catch up." he said.
"Okay." I sat back down on his couch.
We talked about what we were up to in the past 3 years. I told him that I went to law school and I recently graduated. I also told him about Caitlin and her baby. He told me about the band and all of the crazy things that happened on tour.
I was at his house for about an hour. Somebody opened the door. I was expecting to see Josh but I saw a blonde girl standing in the doorway.
"Matt, who's your friend?" she asked.
"This is my old friend, Cassidy. I told you about her. She was the one that moved away after her friend died. Cassidy, this is Julie. My girlfriend."
"Hi. I have heard so many things about you. How long have you two been dating?" I asked. I knew I shouldn't have asked that but I did it anyway.
"4 years this October." she said.
My stomach flipped. I had left just before October. That meant that Matt got over me really easlily.
"Really that is so interesting." I said. I looked at her neck. On it was the locket Matt gave me.
"Yeah. I love him so much. Well I just wanted to drop in. I will see you tomorrow Matt." she said kissing him on the cheek.
The door closed and I spun around on my heels."4 years this October?"
"Um, yeah. We met when I was on tour. I'm sorry." he said.
"I shouldn't have trusted myself to come back here. I shouldn't have come to your place in the first place. You are a player and there is nothing you can do to change that." I said.
He was about to reply but I ran out of his apartment. I walked out on to the street to look for a taxi, Matt's girlfriend walked up behind me.
"You know you won't get him back." she said.
"I don't know what you are talking about."
"Liar. You want him back. But get it in your head sweet heart, he is mine and we will probably get married soon."
"Why would I care." I said.
"Because you dated him."
"What makes you think that?"
"The way you look at him. The way you tried to be close to him." she told me.
"Well, I don't want him back. You can have him." I said.
She rolled her eyes at me and I got into a taxi.
---------------
I had a dream about when I told him that I had to leave.
*Dream*
"Matt, can I talk to you for a second?" I asked.
"Sure. What's wrong?"
"I'm moving."
"What? Why?"
"I can't be here anymore. It hurts too much. But something else is that I have to break up with you."
"Okay. I won't pretend that I won't miss you. Here. Take this. I've been wanting to give it to you since Jemima went into a coma." he handed me a box.
"Okay. Thank you. See you at the funeral tomorrow." I said.
"Okay."
"Oh and there is one more thing. You can't tell anyone. If anyone asks about me just you don't know."
He nodded and left. It hurt me to tell him and it probably hurt him to hear it.
*Realality*
I woke up and went to check if I was still wearing the necklace. I took it off and threw it across the room.
Hey hey. What's up. Did you guys like it? I want to start working on chapter 2 but I don't know what to do. If you have any idea please PLEASE comment. Thanks. Bye for now. *blows french kiss*
