I'm just going to say that I couldn't think of anything so I just skipped ahead a couple months.
It was September 15. Exactly 4 years since the day the ruined my life forever. I got out of bed and changed. When I was in the kitchen, I accidently woke Matt up.
"What are you doing up? It's 8." he asked.
"What happened 4 years ago today?"
"Jemima." he said.
"Yeah. I won't be home much today. Okay."
"Okay. Do you think you could pick up some bread when you're out?" he asked.
"Fine." I sighed as I left.
--------------------------------
I stood in the cemetary, tears went down my face.
"Cassidy," said a familiar voice. "Is that you?"
"Beatrice?" I asked. It was Jemima's aunt.
"I haven't seen you since the funeral." she said.
"I went to Harvard." I told her.
"That is so interesting."
"Thank you. How's Anne." As soon as I said that, she looked even more upset than before.
"Anne is in the hospital." she told me.
"What happened?"
"She was being bullied in school and she tried to kill herself. I found her before it happened but, it was a terrifying experience."
"I am so sorry. That would have made your whole family gone." I said.
She nodded. We talked a little longer and went our seperate ways.
----------------
Around noon I went to Starbucks.
"Hi Cassidy." Samantha said.
"Hi Samantha. Can I have a hot chocolate?" I asked.
"Yep. That will be $3.50."
I handed her the money and went to get my drink. Once I got my hot chocolate I sat down at a table. About 5 minutes later, Samantha came over to talk to me.
"Hey." she said.
"Hi."
"Why the long face?" she asked.
"4 years ago today my best friend died in a car crash." I told her.
"Awwe. Feel better. I have to go to. Skating practice." she told me.
"Okay. Bye Samantha." I said.
--------------
Around 3-ish, I'm not so sure, I went to the beach. I walked along the shore for an hour until it started to rain. I still didn't want to go home. I sat under a tree until I heard someone call my name.
"Cassidy, there you are." he said hugging me.
"You knew I was going to be out today." I told him.
"Yeah, but you weren't answering your phone. No one knew where you were. I started to worry when it started raining. I didn't want you to get hurt."
"Oh. What time is it? My phone died." I asked.
"Almost 7." he told me.
"What? When I left the coffee shop it was 1." I said.
"I guess time flys by." Matt said.
"Yeah, I guess."
"Come on. Lets go home. If you stay out in the rain any longer you'll get sick." Matt said.
I took the umbrella Matt was holding and ran to his car.
We were on the road when we passed a grocery store. "Stop here." I said.
"Why?" Matt asked turning to the store.
"Don't you remember? You wanted me to get some bread." I laughed.
