The day started off like any other. The sun was peeking through the curtains, casting a soft golden glow over the bedroom. Pon stirred slightly in the warmth of the bed, feeling the familiar weight of his growing belly.
He hadn't slept well the night before his body was aching, his back sore, and the twins inside him were shifting restlessly. But despite the discomfort, there was an undeniable sense of anticipation in the air. The time had finally come.
Pon rolled over to see Sailub still asleep beside him. He couldn't help but smile at the sight of him, so peaceful and unbothered by the hectic pace of their lives.
Sailub had been so attentive to him throughout the pregnancy always making sure he was comfortable, pampered, and cared for. And now, with the twins so close to arriving, it was hard to believe that their lives were about to change forever.
Pon slowly got up, careful not to disturb Sailub. He stretched, wincing slightly at the tightness in his lower back, and made his way to the bathroom.
He splashed his face with cold water, trying to shake off the exhaustion from the night. He knew the contractions were coming closer, but they weren't strong enough yet to make him panic.
Instead, Pon took a deep breath, reminding himself that soon, his babies would be in his arms.
After getting dressed in a comfortable pair of leggings and a loose top, Pon made his way downstairs to the kitchen, hoping that a light breakfast might ease his nerves.
Sailub would wake up soon, and they had planned to spend a quiet morning together before the inevitable trip to the hospital.
The house was still quiet, and Pon relished the solitude for a moment. He made himself some toast with jam and poured himself a glass of orange juice.
As he ate, his mind wandered to the future. He couldn't help but wonder what it would be like when the twins finally arrived. Would they look like him, or like Sailub? Would they have his eyes, or Sailub's dark hair?
He was lost in thought when he suddenly felt a sharp, uncomfortable pain in his lower abdomen.
He winced, putting his hand over his belly, trying to breathe through it. The pain wasn't enough to stop him in his tracks, but it made him pause for a moment. Was it just another contraction? Or was something happening?
Pon brushed it off as a simple ache, continuing to nibble at his toast. But the pain came again, more intense this time, making him stop mid-bite. He felt a growing pressure in his abdomen that he couldn't ignore.
"Okay, this is different," Pon muttered to himself, his heart rate picking up slightly.
He set the toast down and stood up, walking slowly to the living room where he could see Sailub stirring.
His instincts told him to get ready, but he didn't want to alarm Sailub just yet. The contractions weren't unbearable, but they were definitely more noticeable than before.
Just as he was about to sit down, he felt a sudden gush of warmth between his legs. His eyes widened in shock, and before he could register what was happening, he realized his water had broken.
"Sailub..." Pon whispered, panic creeping into his voice.
Sailub's head snapped up, his eyes instantly locking on Pon. "What's wrong?" he asked, sensing the shift in the air.
Pon's face was pale, his hands instinctively pressing against his belly as he took a few deep breaths. "I think... I think my water just broke."
Sailub didn't hesitate. He shot out of bed, grabbing his phone and keys in one swift motion. "Okay, we're going to the hospital. Now."
Pon nodded, trying to calm his racing heart as Sailub rushed around, getting their things ready. It was happening. It was happening now. The twins were coming, and there was no time to waste.
Sailub helped Pon to the car, making sure he was settled in before climbing in himself. The drive to the hospital felt like the longest of Pon's life.
The contractions were coming faster now, and Pon found himself clutching the seat, trying to breathe through the pain. His face was pale, and beads of sweat dotted his forehead as each wave of pain hit him.
The pressure in his abdomen was increasing, making it difficult to focus on anything else but the sharp, searing pain.
"Sai... it hurts so much," Pon whimpered, his voice breaking.
Sailub's grip on the wheel tightened, but his gaze never left Pon. He reached over, squeezing Pon's hand in his. "I know, Pon. I'm here. We're almost there. You're doing great, baby. Just breathe."
Pon closed his eyes tightly, focusing on Sailub's voice as a steady anchor in the chaos of his body's reactions.
He had never imagined it would feel like this. Every minute felt like an eternity, the pain only intensifying with each contraction.
When they finally arrived at the hospital, Sailub was out of the car in an instant, rushing to help Pon out.
The nurses were already waiting at the entrance, and they whisked Pon away, placing him on a stretcher and rushing him into the delivery room.
"Sailub!" Pon cried out, his voice desperate as he reached for him.
Sailub grabbed his hand, holding on tightly. "I'm right here, Pon. Don't worry. You're not alone."
Pon was wheeled into the room, the bright lights above making everything feel surreal. The room was sterile, and the beeping machines around him only amplified the fear and pain he was feeling.
His body was shaking with each contraction, and he felt a rising panic deep inside him.
"Sailub..." Pon gasped, his voice shaky. "I don't know if I can do this."
Sailub leaned down, brushing his hair out of his face, his expression soft but firm. "Yes, you can. You're strong, Pon. You've got this. I know you do."
Pon's tears welled up as he looked into Sailub's eyes, finding strength in his words. Sailub had always been his anchor, his steady force when everything around him felt uncertain. And now, more than ever, he needed him.
The doctor arrived, and the nurses began preparing everything for the delivery. Sailub stayed by Pon's side, rubbing his back and whispering comforting words between the contractions.
Pon's breathing became ragged, his cries of pain echoing in the room as the moments stretched on.
"I'm so sorry, Sai," Pon sobbed. "It hurts so much... I don't know how much longer I can take it."
"You're doing amazing, Pon. I'm so proud of you," Sailub said, his voice unwavering, even as his heart broke seeing Pon in so much pain.
Minutes turned into hours. The pain ebbed and flowed as Pon's body prepared for the final push.
Every muscle in his body ached, but somehow, through the haze of pain and exhaustion, he managed to hold on.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the room was filled with the cries of their babies.
Pon let out a breathless sob, tears spilling down his cheeks as he heard the sound their babies were here.
Sailub kissed Pon's forehead gently, his own eyes filled with tears. "We did it, Pon. We did it."
Pon could only nod, his body exhausted but filled with an overwhelming sense of love and relief.
The twins were here. And their lives, as challenging as they may be, were just beginning, "Baby Zai.. and baby Pahn.."
As the doctors and nurses took care of the babies, Sailub kept his hand on Pon's, never once letting go.
They had crossed the finish line, and now, they had a beautiful family to cherish and protect.
For Pon, everything that had come before the pain, the fear was worth it. As he looked up at Sailub, he knew that, together, they could handle anything.
