The alarm blares, pulling me out of the kind of sleep where you forget you have responsibilities. I drag myself out of bed and to the bathroom, mentally preparing for the first real test of this new dynamic. Getting two kids ready for school and making it to work on time feels like an impossible juggling act.

Once I'm dressed and don't up in my scrubs I make my way to the kid's room. Both in their own beds now, on their own sides of the room. The CPS worker allowed him to get some of his things from his mom's house, who happens to be in jail at the moment, her boyfriend too.

I feel a little bad for making Bell share her room, she doesn't have to at Ari's but two bedrooms is all I have. Thankfully she doesn't seem to mind.

"Alright, you two, time for school." I flick on the light and clap my hands softly.

They stir before groaning in sync, making me laugh quietly. "I know, I know, I don't wanna go to work myself."

"Five more minutes." Will mumbles.

"Please." Bellamy adds.

"No can do, come on. I'm gonna make breakfast, while you both get dressed. You're clothes are on the end of your beds." Over the weekend CPS let Will get some of his clothes and stuff from Amber's house who happens to be in jail along with her boyfriend at the moment.

When they're both finally up I leave the room and head to the kitchen, where I fix up a quick little breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast. Nothing special.

They both enter the kitchen when I'm half way done, dressed in their uniforms with their hair messy.

"I'm making bacon and eggs." I smile at them as they sleepy walk over to a chair.

I get some incoherent noise from them both, which I take as an ok.

Will lays his head on the dining table and Bellamy lays her cheek on her fist, but instead of sleepy she looks upset.

"Something wrong Bellamy?" I ask with a small frown.

She sighs, quite loudly. "I-I don't w-want to go w-with Mamá today, I-it's not fair."

I squint my eyes a little. "How is it not fair, you always go with your Mamá on Mondays."

"W-Will doesn't have t-to go." Her tone is whiny, as she pouts.

Will sits up at the mention of his name, attentive to the conversation now.

"She's not his Mamá and she wants to see you. You'll be back Thursday, like always and I promise you won't miss anything important." I assure her.

Another loud sigh from her. "W-Whatever."

Although not happy with the attitude in the word, I let it slide as I start making their plates and then my own before we eat in silence, neither too eager to talk.

I do Bellamy's hair and Will fixes his own how he likes it before we leave and I drop them off at school. Then before going straight to work I grab myself a coffee from a fav cafe of mine to power myself for the long day ahead.

Ramona's POV

"Hey bud, how the arm." I ask as he climbs into the car. I'm happy to see him after waiting half an hour in the pickup line. The school needs a better system or something, it was like that when I was a kid.

He sighs as he looks at the cast. "It sucks."

"Believe me I know, I just got my arm out of a sling." It really does suck.

"Really, what happened?" He questions curiously.

"I tore a something in my shoulder, could barely move it." I explain shortly.
