"I'll go order," Ananya offered, getting up from her chair as the friends reunited after a long time span.
"I'll come with you," Ari added, jogging to entangle her hands with her arm as the besties walked towards the counter of the old café which used to be there daily spot when they were just new to college 5 years ago.
The left ones of the table, Avi and Samar glared at each other with their individual gazes of rile and disgust respectively.
However, one of those two couldn't contain anymore so he jerked himself ahead, keeping his arms on the table and pointing a finger at the other man.
"Saale tune Ananya ko pata liya or mujhe nahi bataya tune?"
Aviral shook his head in disbelief, not ready to accept the apologizes of Samar that he didn't even ask for.
"Kyu be? Tu bada jaise mujhe ek ek cheez batata tha teri or Arranya ki, huh?" The hoodie wearer replied in his defence, making his point.
"Waah beta waah!" Aviral exclaimed with a chuckle, shifting back in his seat.
"Matalb dost kuch time—"
"Correction. Kuch saal," Samar interjected with his correction and a sarcastic smirk that shushed Aviral in a second.
The boy gulped down in hesitation, correcting his sentence with a stutter.
"Ha- Haan haan wahi, kuch saalo ke liye kya gaya tune to paraya hi kar diya mujhe," the boy in the brown sweater shook his head, exaggerating his disappointment in his best friend.
"Or haan, mai or Arranya kabhi relationship me nahi the samjha? Jo bhi baat thi vo tujhe pata thi, tune hi dhoka diya hai mujhe," the boy added further, his pout hung, and face giving vibes of weeping anytime soon if he's not pampered.
"Bhai mujhe ye umeed nahi thi tujhse, dhokebaaz kahi ka," the newly became doctor expressed.
"Abey?" Samar was surprised to observe such fragile changes in his best friend who used to be a frank, tough but a lovely boy back then.
"Kya?" Aviral uttered in annoyance as he dramatically punched Samar's palm like a pookie, weak girl that got on Samar's nerves.
"Abey to kya tujhe patata mai kutte? Door hatt," he hauled back his arm to his chest, protecting it like it's a museum property to be safeguarded.
But this cute banter of the boys was such fun to their girls who stood behind an interior design wall that had alternative spaces in between to peak through, as they watched the two from a distance to not be noticed.
"Ahhh, I'm so relieved now that he's finally back," Anna placed her chin on Ari's shoulder with a sigh and a smile as she adored both her boyfriend and best friend on the table.
"I agree," Arranya nodded mutually as they walked towards the boys with their ordered food.
"Thank you," both the males stood up to take the trays from the girl's hands as they let them slide to the window side and sit peacefully while they served their bench mates.
"So how was America, Avi?" Ananya questioned, stealing a slice of pizza from Arranya's plate.
"It was hectic but fine. However, I missed you all so much. I was... Homesick most of the time in there when I was alone," he replied, stuffing his mouth with food as if he hasn't had grains for a while.
